"Use Hollywood, Never Let Hollywood Use You", is the saying that keeps native Detroiter, Jay Danzie, focused and humble. Jay grew up with a seriousness for music at an early age in which took him from grade school glee club, to playing violin in middle school and tooting a trumpet all the way through high school. This talented person built his own studio in marble and begin creating beats and creating radio commercials that would stage his early hunger for a career in the music industry. He performed with The Dogs, Luke Skywalker and The Ghetto Boys and Later decided to do gospel rap music.
He helped form a group known as "JOINT HEIRS" sharing stages with Gospel Gangsters, Shirley Ceaser at Chene Park, Vickie Winans at the fabulous Fox theater, Hart Plaza, Detrich Haddon, Fred Hammond, PAJAM, Bill Moss, Dawkins and Dawkins, Israel and the New Breed, Cross movement in Philli to name a few. He then stepped on the scene performing at almost every major church in and around the city. They included Perfecting (pastor Marvin Winans), Second Ebeneezer (pastor Edgar Vann), Straight Gate (Bishop Merrit) and his home church, Word of Faith International Christian Center,(Bishop Keith Butler) which seats 5000.
He is a very inspirational speaker and has spoken before thousands in Canada at the Windsor college gymnasium.
Jay received a certificate in business at "DEI". His first plane ride started by leaving his job making 19 dollars an hour at the rail yard and moving to San Diego, California pursuing his dreams of success. He started touring with plays where he became official photographer/merchandising director for the hit stage play, "I won't be the other woman" starring Charlie Wilson, Chico Debarge, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Levan Davis of Tyler Perry's "House of Pain."
Jay gained the title "Mogul/promoter", when he eventually wanted to expand internationally and decided to move to London where he began promoting prestigious clubs and started "Danzie Urban", The worlds first mobile urban store network. He found himself in the midst of some of the most influential business people and entertainers in the world and opened offices in London and Japan.
As a key cornerstone he started "Red Letter Entertainment" and is also an Ambassador for others working side by side with business colleagues, Cory Mcgee, (www.corymcgee.com) Ex-European baller and Paul Wayne Gregory (www.paulwaynegregory.com), the famous chocolatier from London. He has recently headed back to Detroit, where he has launched a campaign called "Operation Prodigy" (child with exceptional ability), that is geared towards helping boost the morals of inner city youths in what was once seen as a failing school district.
His servant attitude has caused him to serve the usher board for 3 years, be a youth leader for "G PHI G" for 2 years and to raise thousands of dollars in food & clothes for the homeless at "Operation Get Down" and "Oasis" homeless shelter. His ultimate desire is to help people first and leave a legacy secondly. His motto is simple.... No matter what you do in life, let Love be the motive !
