On call for work from now until 10/23/08.

About Me

My current career involves setting up, installing, and repairing two way radio equipment. In the past, I have:- been a public safety dispatcher and E-911 calltaker; - master control operator at a television station; - master control operator / promotions manager / production manager / traffic coordinator and even on-air talent at a different television station (gotta love low power tv); - worked at an Ames Department Store (they're gone now); - packed clothing at an import / export warehouse; - put U.S. warning labels on Canadian cigarettes (don't ask); - inspected sheep and hog intestines for use as natural casings (please don't ask); - flipped burgers at a McD's (who hasn't?); and - shipped videotapes at a third television station.Yep, can't hold down a job, I guess. Maybe it has to do with my hobbies.I am a volunteer firefighter with the Latham Fire Department, and I have been since January 2004. This year I hold the rank of Third Lieutenant. Before that, I was a volunteer firefighter and Emergency Care Attendant with the Alburg Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad in Vermont for 13 years. I got my start with the Colonie Fire Company Explorer Post 405 when I was still in high school.I am also an Amateur Radio Operator, callsign KB2DGA. I don't get on the air much, and I don't belong to any clubs. I also posess a Genearl Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) license, callsign WQBM-345. I am still getting equipment together. Once it is up and running, I will basically 'hang out' on 462.600 and 462.675 MHz.My other hobby involves scanner radios. I have several and I like to keep an ear on the local and regional fire departments for activity.

My Interests

Fire Service; Two way radio; Amateur radio service; General Mobile Radio Service; Scanner radios & frequencies
