Steinbeck rocks. Everyone should be forced by law to read Amusing Ourselves To Death (Neil Postman) as well as Brave New World, and 1984 they will teach you great lessons. Fast Food Nation...good book too. Christopher Rice has three good books too. Ever heard of Irene Kampen? She's old, but good for a laugh. My bookcase at home is pretty full with what could be consider the "random" section at the bookstore.
