Jimi Hendrix was born the day after thanksgiving in 1942, he died in the year of 1970 from drug overdose. Jimi got his first guitar in 1958, it was a five dollar acoustic guitar his dad bought from his friend. In 1961 he left to join the paratroopers.. After a few years there, he left to pursue his music career. He had no home, and no money. So he started trying to find gigs, he used to walk around the streets with his guitar on his back. He would stop in local music stores just to play his guitar on their amps, while the owners would watch in amazement. He played a special gig one night, and was introduced to a big producer by his friend. He and the producer immediately hit it off and he went to London to start his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience. The band members were Mitch Mitchell (drummer), Noel Redding (Bassist), and Jimi Hendrix (guitar and vocals). He had a few more bands after this one, but he only changed bassists. Once he got rid of Noel Redding, he got one of his old friends from the paratroopers, Billy Cox. In 1970 he died of an overdose of sleeping pills. He had been really stressed from his around the world touring schedule and could not get any sleep so he took almost 20 sleeping pills, he vomitted in his sleep and choked causing him to go unconscious. When he arrived at the hospital, he died. To this day Jimi Hendrix still lives on, with that same vibe that he brought to the world. Jimi Hendrix was and always will be, the greatest guitar player in the world...
