About Me

I am what you would call a modern day "Homesteader". I strive to go back to the basics. This means that I would like to find a way to go without as many "modern conviences" as possible. I bake my own bread, grow my own food, burn wood for heat. There are many people who have been able to go off-grid (meaning, no utilities at all) I am not to that point and don't know if I will ever go that deep. I still have a T.V. computer, VCR, microwave, but, I'm working on it. I would someday like to live in a house completely powered by solar or wind power. It is is really fun to strive for and I am learning to depend on myself. I am learning something new everyday. I want to live a different way of life so that I can become a stong, independant woman who would rather be outside creating and growing. I would hope that if there was ever a natural disaster or our economy fails I could sustain my family on the knowledge I am gaining. I would like to teach my sons to live a simple life, to learn to do anything they need to by hand. They are good little gardeners already...we have a good time.
