James Kameran's evolvement to the DJ and music producer he is today has its roots all the way back in the 1980's when he first became interested in music at an early age. At 13 years old he bought a cheap, beat up acoustic guitar which he then proceeded to teach himself to play, eventually becoming an accomplished guitarist and bassist. Throughout his school years James was playing in rock bands who were already performing original songs even though the band members were only around 16 years old. The bands played gigs in South London venues such as The Jolly Boatman and Bacchus. James started to record the bands original material to a trusty four track recorder and thus his carreer as a music producer began. Around this time James was also recording some of his compositions entirely on his own, laying down guitar parts, basslines, percussion, vocals and even harmonica. This love affair with music continued but changed direction slightly in the early 90's as James became more and more interested in creating electronic music after he was introduced to Cubase running on an Atari ST computer. After several years of travelling the world with a small backpack and his trusty acoustic guitar, James settled down to concentrate on DJing and working in the studio. His desire to combine electronic elements with acoustic instruments led to the release of the Verbier Lounge series on his own label. In 2005 debuted "Verbier Lounge Vol.1" and 2006 saw the release of the follow up "Verbier Lounge Vol. 2" James is currently working in the studio on Vol.3. The music showcased on these CD's, almost entirely produced by James, is a testimony to all of his musical influences over the years including rock, blues, jazz, funk and electronic dance forms of music. The music on the cd's can regularly be heard on Ibiza Sonica Radio and Global Radio Ibiza. James' downtempo DJ sets can be quite eclectic but are always a fun, uplifting voyage. You can enjoy one of these sets at Bambuddha Grove, Ibiza where James is a resident DJ.James also plays and produces his own style of minimal house/techno which in the summer of 2006 led him to be the resident in the famous (infamous!) "Coco Loco" room at PRIVILEGE, Ibiza for Chris Liebing's new party "SPINCLUB". He has also been resident DJ at several clubs in Switzerland and has played at PACHA, Ibiza as well as clubs in London and Frankfurt. You may have heard his tracks being played out at SPACE, DC10, PACHA or PRIVILEGE where international DJ's have all spun his productions. To check out his more chilled side visit www.verbierlounge.ch
