Born in 2003, Moojuice Records was originally conceived as a platform for musical projects by a community of artists from Dunfermline, Fife, a town in the east of Scotland. The Moojuice collective began when some unsigned artists became friends, really liked each others' music, and began to hang out: to write, record, encourage and gig. Over time, the original Dunfermline nucleus has grown, to include both new friends and projects as well as some old friends who have returned to their native haunt or who live elsewhere.
Moojuice Records has a simple goal: to only release music that we love and believe in and we think that if we love it, someone else will love it too. We will always only release a record that we want to own (however CD's come in a minimum of a 1000 so we figured we'd have to do something with the other 995)!
Moojuice Records was named after the beloved white stuff: milk. Milk, of course provides the primary source of nutrition for newborns throughout the entire animal kingdom and seems appropriate given our aim to offer a platform for nurturing artists whose music we love.
The latest release from Dunfermline independent record label Moojuice Records is the long-awaited new album from Dan Lyth, 'Everything Is Simple'! From soaring strings to classic Casio beats, each track is brought to life by Dan's attention to detail, warm vocals and a general unwillingness to be pigeon-holed alongside the growing list of acoustic troubadours nursing broken hearts under the spotlight. Instead, expect a musical journey enriched by performances from a host of talented artists and a set of songs that are just as compelling whether focusing on the minute details of a trip to the circus or a heart-felt call for divine intervention.
With many of the original recordings edited and arranged during his daily commute on the bus from Dunfermline to Glasgow, Everything is Simple has been a labour of love that blends homemade charm with the highest of production values. While Dan's wife Sarah hand-made the cover art for the album, the final mastering process for the CD has been completed by New York based Alan Douches, who has performed the same service for such notable artists as Sufjan Stevens, Beirut and Run DMC.
