The band Universal You (from Kirkcaldy label Joesoap Records) are putting up the prize of a full day recording in The Substation Studios, Rosyth. This will mean a full 8 hours in the studio, with an engineer, allowing a band the opportunity to come out with a good quality demo.
The Substation has hosted many well known bands such as Mogwai, Snow Patrol and Super Furry Animals.
Universal You record and rehearse in The Substation and know it will provide relaxed and completely professional surroundings for the young band that wins this prize to gain some valuable recording time and experience. Universal You also rehearse at the Kirkcaldy YMCA's excellent facility and completely support any initiative to get kids and young people involved in all aspects of music.
Universal You current lead guitarist is the phenomenal Mark Grant, a former Balwearie HS pupil and music graduate (2008) from Napier University in Edinburgh
