Science Fiction, Fashion, Comparative Mythology Rollerblading, Beach activities, Boating, Fishing, everything connects and unfortunately, or fortunately which ever way you want to view it, that means EVERYTHING interests me in some way or another. If it's unusual though, like the main character on House, it interest me more. Ordinary is, well, boring.
Only people who like me and are nice to me. But then I wouldn't learn much would I? So I guess I want to meet everyone because I have something to learn from everyone. Their joy, their pain, their beliefs, their likes/dislikes, stories of their lives and families, and to tell me if I have a piece of broccoli in my teeth. I admire intelligence over a perfect outside shell (though being a hottie never hurts.) And as we all know outer beauty fades. So can inner beauty, though I would dare to dream that we all don't focus on the shitty stuff that we all go through and roll in pleasant memories of the past. Then look forward to the better tommorrow that awaits us.Music Video Codes By Music Jesus.com
I love music, it speaks to my soul just like the right painting, the right poem(most oftenly part of the song), movie, book. The difference about music and a song is that it can either just want to make me sit there stare at my sky and seriously think about what this artist is trying to say - REM, U2, even Coldplay, and they make me feel like I am not so alone in this world, even when I am. Then there are those DJ's, electronica muscians, trip hop (looove Massive Attack) that can take me to another world. Some with an almost religious fervor, like those Church of Exctacy rave songs... you just let the music take you over in a room with a thousand other happy shiny people. Some times I think that is what God has waiting for us on the other side. No fear, all empathy. It's a beautiful thing.http://www.../song.php?id=38389&style=0
With no hesitation my #1 favorite movie is THE MATRIX. I know I am a dork and I don't care what you think. Just rented AEON FLUX movie and really liked it. Others: STEALING BEAUTY (if I were a lesbian Liz would be #1 on that list) FIGHT CLUB, MONTYPYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, PULP FICTION (that's a very close second to the matrix) KILL BILL 1&2 (of coarse) JACKASS THE MOVIE, THE JOY LUCK CLUB, EMMA, NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, CONTACT (#3 loved it), SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS (i need to read the book, i have a book of ralph steadman's art and he has hunter s thompson blowing his brains out with a gun a couple of times. wierd huh?
Six Feet Under, Lost,Grey's Anatomy, House (even though it seems a little far fetched it makes me laugh. Dr. House cracks me up - normal people are boring.) Dancing with the Stars( know I am a dork) Wll and Grace, Friends, The Facts of life (just kidding), Aeon Flux (back in the day). I never get a chance to watch any of these on a regular basis. I know how much I need Tivo.
Year's Best Science Fiction (various writers), All Joseph Campbell books but my favorite and easiest to digest is his interview with Bill Moyers called The Power of Myth, Billions and Billions by Carl Sagen, Memoirs of a Geisha, and any books dealing with the philosophy, religion and symbolism in the movie the Matrix. I wish I could say I have read Simulation and Simulacra by Baulliard but it might take me a millenia to digest it, though I understand the basic premise. I did read Candid in like the 10th grade, don't know if i was ready for it yet because the only thing i remember is someone chopping off one of their ass cheeks and eating it.
My grandmother This is the only place I could find to put this, but they don't allow you to put your ethnicity if you are of mixed race... how shallow. I am proud to be 1/2 of Korean descent and 1/2 Caucasion, I am not sure if the bottom half is Korean and the top half white or the other way around - just kidding - I'm pretty evenly spread out, dark hair, hazel green eyes, pillowy lips, tiny frame. But I am not that great at math, damn it.
