BLOODCHURN

"Purveyors of Wanton Putridity"

About Me

Bloodchurn origanally formed in 1998, with core members Zach Notter, Charlie Hart, and Bobby Childers, with the intent to create wicked, brutal death metal. A couple of songs were written and drummer Josh Ross was recruited from local heavy metal band Feid. Three songs were done and the fourth in progress when Bloodchurn started trying out singers. Some were descent but only one caught their attention with his maddening, straight foward, mean as fuck vocals. Ricky Setzer, a long time local supporter of death metal and good friend of the band was given the job. So the Bloodchurn lineup was solidified and the brutal red sounds of Bloodchurn moved foward. By the time seven songs were written, Bloodchurn were ready to record a demo. A demo was recorded at a friends house studio by Mario Valdez(Ex-Dead For Ten Weeks singer), in which it was eventually mixed and mastered by Clyde Holly at Hollyhouse studios. Disgusted with the production, which they felt it wouldn't do them justice, Bloodchurn would re-enter the studio, this time at their own practice place with Duane Bullock behind the board on controls, to record their demo A Cataclysmic Blessing, a seven song assault that would finally satisfy the band for the time being. Continuing to write material and play shows with such bands as Regurgitated, Fleshtized, Cephalic Carnage, Deeds of Flesh, Vader, Origin, Suture,Dead For Ten Weeks, and Gathering of the Sick festival, to name a few, Bloodchurn received an offer and inked a two album deal with Unmatched Brutality Records. A series of very bad events involving band members would floor the band from writing material for the debut album, or any shows. A year or so passed and the recovery of the band was inevitable, so they set their sights on Hollyhouse studios to record their debut album for Unmatched Brutality Records entitled Ravenous Consumption. The recording was a success and artwork for the album began. The debut would consist of five brand new tracks, and four tracks from the Cataclysmic demo. With everything complete, Ravenous Consumption would be unleashed in 2005! Bloodchurn is currently hard at work writing material for their followup to Ravenous Consumption!
