BLACKJACK CA$EY

About Me

Jack ( BLACKJACK )Casey has been playing gin mills and honky tonks in the midwest for decades. From the power/pop trio, "Bongo Fury" to the blues based " The Operators" to the, all over the road, "The Fabulous Chinooks" , he's been seen shakin' and bendin' his mostly Fender guitars in such venues as the Aragon Ballroom, P.J. Flaherty's, the Daly Center Stage, Taste of Chicago and most recently, 115 Bourbon St. He's a well respected guitarist, and a renowned multi-instrumentalist in the Chicagoland area. Recently, Blackie has decided to spare the other members of "Network" from his screeching solos and off-key caterwauling and leave them to their own devices, "good luck, boys, I'll miss you all". Currently he's playing guitar for a quirky but fun loving, power/pop trio called "Three Sheets",(check out their MySpace page). Also he's playing guitar and mandolin for a slightly more abusive but no less quirky and fun trio called " The Reziduals" who, (along with Kent Kaled, from "Network" and Arty Gigler, form "Hillbillys from Space), host an open mic night at "The Hideaway" in Blue Island, Il. every Thursday. As if that's not enough to keep him busy, he's also part of the return of and newly reforming " Hillbillys from Space" , along with Burt Ames on bass and original members, Arty Gigler on drums and Jim Eisinas on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Blackjack is also, ceaselessly, working on new material for his second, solo CD. In the meantime give a listen to some tunes from his first solo CD, right here.

Band Members: BLACKJACK CA$EY consists of...well...ME! ( so hard to find a good rhythm section, ya know? ) All the songs you hear on this site are just me and a cheesy 8 track recorder and an even cheesier keyboard that I used for all the instruments, other than guitars. Recorded and mixed in a spare bedroom and yes, I know, IT SOUNDS LIKE IT! I’ll do better next time. Anyway, I hope to be doing an acoustic, solo act in the future but in the meantime, I’m playing electric guitar with a couple of local bands. "Three Sheets" is a wacky little three piece band consisting of ( Scorch Mark) Warczak on drums, (Electric Bill) Obermeier on bass and myself on guitar, playing a mixture of Rock-a-Billy, Roadhouse, Jump-Blues and Surf music. We’ll be playing in the Chicago area. Look for us at myspace.com/treesheets and come out and join the fun! I also play with another 3 piece called "The Reziduals". We host an open stage night at The Hideaway in Blue Island, every Thur. , come on out and jam with us!... Anyway, here’s a video of one of the bands I used to play with, "Network" at 115 Boubon St. doing an old favorite. Mustang Sally
