Finance (in general). I also like to socialize and I try to appreciate everyday situations and everyday moments. I am also interested in politics and science (but not as much as before). Besides finance and so on, I like going to concerts (I really like it). My private life is not very complicated. I have a wonderful wife, Lessié, who I love with all my heart and I just want her to be happy.
New and "old" friends...
My musical experience peaked in 2003 and in 2004. At that time, I was a member of Snerike choir in Uppsala (I sang first bass); I joined the choir because a friend of mine, Bruno (an engineer and a great musician from South Africa), had joined before me and he told me that I should too. However, when I became a member of the choir I had no singing experience whatsoever. Nevertheless, I learned quite fast. (The only reason I was accepted as a member was because there was a vacancy of basses). I am still a novice compared to most other choristers. Yet, the other members of the choir had a great influence on me. With their long experience of singing and reading sheet music, they were the best musical mentors I could ever have asked for. And Jacob Risberg, the conductor, he was fantastic! My best memory from the choir period (beside from all the parties) is our performances of Freò and Gede Nibo, two traditional Haitian songs; I love those songs. Also worth mentioning are Organ Fugue (J.S. Bach), Gubben Noak (C.M. Bellman), Tourdion (Anonyme-publié en 1530 par Pierre Attaingnant), Inga rikedomar har jag haft (trad. Swedish), Sir Duke (Stevie Wonder), Var é tvålen (Povel Ramel), Än en gång däran (Evert Taube), All The Things You Are (O. Hammerstein), Independent Women Part I (Destiny..s Child) and Aldri..har ja haft så roligt (trad. Swedish). When I moved to Stockholm in 2004 to continue my studies at Stockholm University, I quit the choir. However, music is still important to me and recently I have been listening to Mozart and Bob Dylan; last year (2005), Dylan held three concerts in Sweden. I saw two of them, one here in Stockholm and the other one in Karlstad; in Karlstad, after he had played Highway 61 Revisited, I shouted (so everybody could hear it) YOU ARE STILL ON THE ROAD! You might think that it was an embarrassing thing, shouting like that, but he was good that night! He gave everything and he played all the songs that everybody (including me) wanted to hear. Indeed, he is still on the road (or highway). Lessié, my wife, has also introduced me to a great many good artists lately. For example, Tres Dueños (read Fiera Salvaje), P!nk and The Killers. By the way, P!nk and The Killers played here in Scandinavia in October - November (2006). Of course, Lessié and I got tickets! (The tickets to P!nk were Lessiés morning gift. She really likes her music and, after all, P!nk-tickets are more fun than a boring necklace! The tickets to The Killers, on the other hand, were an important part of our honeymoon. Lessié LOVES The Killers (almost more than she loves me) and seeing them live was like a second wedding for her. Actually, The Killers concert (and the MTV-party later that night) made our honeymoon! Here on Myspace, I have been introduced to many great artists too and whose music I appreciate a lot! These artists are: The Martino Conspiracy, Metallica (what a concert here in Stockholm! They gave it all! Btw, I have a short clip and some pictures from that concert), Molinder band, Mic Levine & Number 99, Aeroclub, Alafú (big up!), Shooting John, Shakira, The Streams, Stewboss, Gustav & The Seasick Sailors, 3 Kisses, Zero in, Soulpreacher, Social Living Sounds (A.L.X and Matthew Woods), The Pass Outs, Eero, Colette Trudeau, Nine Taurus, Truly Paula (Curious!), Bigg Sixx Entertainment, Girls Dont Cry, Blinded Colony, Daniel Ryan, Eminem, Christina, Reverb, Boy on the roof, Beastie Boys (go Pingu!), Forest & Crispian, 50 Cent, Froid, Francesca Maria, Hallucinations, Hesitant Ballad, D.M.A, Lady D, Leaders Off, Pink Floyd, Paddy Milner & The Big Sounds, Surfact, The Revs, CJ Massive & Black Teacher, Black Light Co, LeAnna Mosley, Justin Timberlake (please, check out the clip and the pictures from his concert in Gothenburg. Go ahead, be gone with it, Go ahead, be gone with it), Siv Langøy, Lila Sakura, Joshuas Whisper, Jay Allie, Young Rival, Catharina Lindahl, Linzy and Libido. Rock on, friends!
I have seen many good movies, but I cannot remember all of them.
However, I can mention some good movies that I have seen: Modern Times (its
such a funny and beautiful movie),
Casablanca (I love the song As Time Goes By), Sommaren med Monika (Ingmar
Bergman), Doctor Zhivago (that story
is beautiful and totally breathtaking), Das Boot:The Directors Cut (I am a
former submariner and I identify
myself with the crew), Sophie Scholl-Die Letzten tage. (I was totally
shocked after seeing that movie; their
terrrible fate and their bravery! If you don..t know, this movie is based on a
true story. In short, in Munich
on February 22, 1943 Sophie Scholl, her brother Hans Scholl and their friend
Christoph Probst were condemned
to death because they were opposing the war and the Nazi regime (in reality,
they were condemned for their
belief in right and wrong and for their human kindness). The execution took
place only a few hours after the trial.
Now, let..s leave this sad (true) story and go on with some comedies:
Chostbusters (its funny), The Naked Gun
("Maybe this will help?") and Fun with Dick and Jane (indeed, fun is the
right word). Lets see, is there any
other movie? Yes of course, Peter Jacksons KING KONG! However, its not a
comedy, it is a REAL MOVIE. Especially,
I like the action on Skull Island. For example, when the members of the film
expedition face the dinosaurs and
realize that they can do nothing but run. And they run! On more thing about
KING KONG, it wasnt the beauty that
killed the beast, it was the crazy film producer Carl Denham. Ok, I have to mention three more movies: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End; if you like adventure (and humour), you should see these movies! Secuestro express: (more about this one later)
II Principe (Niccolò Machiavelli), A Tale of Two Cities (Charles Dickens),
Remembering Babylon (David Malouf), Röda rummet (August Strindberg), Doktor
Glas (Hjalmar Söderberg), Ragtime (E.L. Doctorow), The Remains of the Day
(Kazuo Ishiguro), Nineteen Eighty-Four (George Orwell), In Country (Bobbie Ann Mason), Nice
work (David Lodge), A Bowl of Cherries (Shena Mackay), among others.
My mother, because she is (and has always been) such a great person. Thanks mom! Albert and Margareta Andreasson, because they were such great grandparents; and in the absence of my father, they were always there. Mikhail Gorbachev, because he did what was best for us all, that is, ending the Cold War. I mean, he realized what was the right thing to do, AND HE DID IT! Ronald Reagan, because of his influence on Mr. Gorbachev and because he didnt let the Cold War become a "Hot War" (btw, I was touring through Air Force One in Simi Valley earlier this year, and i saw that "football"); much can be said about his Hollywood-career, but in world politics he was a true hero. (Elvis Presley, because he still brings love to this world. Aloha!) Finally, I have to add Al Gore and Arnold Schwarzenegger to my list of heroes because of their deep commitment in environmental politics. I also add Tom.(Do I have to explain why?)
