So Many In A Hurry Trying To Be The Top Shot

About Me

Hello my alais is Don Urbane i am the producer/rapper of Undadawg Entertainment ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------- First of all i would like to state: I dont sell drugs, disrespect civilised women and call them hoes, use materials to look down on people orkill my own kind so if you find that kind of thing appealing im sorry to disapoint you. Im jus another producer in this vastly growing musicindustry. I never started making beats to show off to people or make profit. This has always been something that ive enjoyed doing as aart of expression because when i was growing up thats what it used to be. An art. I kept developing my style and being my worst critic keptmaking more beats over time to enhance my style and expand myself so i didnt box myself into one style. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- I started making beats as a hobby during my school days at the age of 14. After choosing music as a gcse whileattending Northumberland Park Community School a shithole of a secondary school. I spent most of my lunch times and after schoolteaching myself how to play the piano and how to use Cubasis making beats. At the time it was just escapism from all the madness in mylife and outside. I kept myself to myself so not much people knew that i was making beats and those who did jumped on the bandwagonbut thats another story lol. Within the time of me doing my gcses i made arounds 30 beats that i could be proud of and lots of others. Istarted freestyling on those beats with a little tape recording dictator. never wrote a rhyme. Still got the tapes and reminese to em lol. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- By the age of 16 around i got a copied version of Fruity Loops. I hated the software in comparision to Cubase i was so used to usingthe keyboard. I couldnt understand how to use the piano roll and make beats with just a mouse. The idea seemed crazy so i uninstalledthe software off of my pc and vowed never to use it ever again. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------- Feeling defeated and dissapointed in not being able to make beats on my pc i re installed Fruity Loops and taught myself (and others lol)how to use the software. Within a month or so i made my first instrumental cd "cd1. Pkm Volume 1" and then went on to make "cd.2Nefarious compositions" and "cd3. Forsheezy" ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- Then from there i found myself a copy of Reason 1. Slowly got into using that software and developed my production style through theusage of the two softwares Fruity Loops and Reason. From the periods 1999 to 2002 i made cds 4, 5, 6,and 7: "Anuva fix", "Pkm no.4","Addiction" and "Overdose" as well as alot of other beats that i didnt finish off or was satisfied with. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- Around 2002 i decided to move out of home to Nottingham and attended a sound engerniering course at Confetti studios. (Any excuse toget away from home lol). Wanted to further my production skills and and learn how to mix and master tracks in peace lol. So i took my pcand dodgy software and applied what i learnt to my home productions. Thus cd.8 "The Undadawg" (which was a name of a cd buteventually became the alias of my Productions). This stuff was mostly played on keyboard. No samples. It was kind of like classical hiphop a real maturing of my previous stuff which was dark and rebellious. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------- I found myself at peace and away from alot of negative shit that was around me. I then went on to make cd.9 "run on empty" which was mylast cd i made in my Nottingham residence before my computer blew up lol. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------- This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it then made me book more studio time at Confetti Studios nearly everyday to getmy fix of producing. So i managed to still produce beats against the odds lol. hence the name of the cd10 & 11 "against the odds" Mostlyusing Reason2.5, Recycle, Cubase sx/2 and Pro logic ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------- I dropped out of confetti, i had what i wanted. Studio experience. Djing classes from Dj Fever also a local producer (think u can find hismyspace he is dope) and more then two cds worth of beats. The course itself was quite disapointing, not so much pratical work as ianticiapted. More theory and History of music. yawn...... i eventually came back to London. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- When i got back to London in 2005 within a month i started working in a studio called OTC (On the corner) records. Where i was a studioengineer (using apple software dp3) and host of the live internet rap and drum and bass shows that happened every week. Was a realgood experience to be recording various artist of various genres of music. Setting up drum kits and microphones for rock bands. I evenappeared on TV channel 5 ( my five seconds of fame, oh well. Better then channel U lol ) "Make me a supermodel.... where are they now".One of the final three models sung in the studio i worked in, her tune was "Mental storm" (Yep that was me on the mixing desk lol) . Duringa year i made another three cds of beats. Some at home and some in the studio OTC. those cds of instrumnetals was cds 13."Untitled/Unreleased" (unheard stuff) cd.14 "Only me" and cd 15. "Otc studios and other beats" ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- During what seemed a lifetime of recording other peoples tunes, making instrumentals for artists, plenty of Djing of live internet Rap, Rockand DnB shows, setting up equipment, Filming for Cracc Tv and Wounded Man (the film), phoning independent music stores to promoteour in house artist and plugging "Cracc tv" a dvd made inside OTC studios to companies like channel4 also trying to get artist i knew from onroad into the studio to record thier tunes (man i was grinding lol )....... i felt like recording my own mixtape. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- I recorded my first ever three tunes "Against the grain", "Say what i see" and "Martyrs of society" for what was supposed to be my veryown promotional cd. I also made a beat for some artists that spat in OTC called "Real life shit". ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- I thought all my hard work was paying off after being promised to fully take over the recording responsibilities in OTC and also morestudio time but after being jerked out of studio time that i was promised i had enough and left the studio. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------- In 2006 after makin cd. 16 "The fastlife" i stopped making beats for awhile and decided not to bother with music anymore..... buteventually i missed doing it so much that i started again. I got on this thing here (myspace) and slowly started making even more beats. After my experience of working at OTC i decided that i wanted to do my own thing and focus on managing artists rather then being an artist.Producing for them and working to promote their work. Unfortunately i didnt and still havent found any suitable or serious talent to manageor work with. Also ive wasted alot of time on emcees and singers that are unable to follow through with real action.----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------- Myspace followers saw the growth and development of cd.17 "GOODGUYS FINISH LAST" which saw me step my productional style upeven further then the previous 16 cds without the use of a keyboard or any major hardware. Jus from the persistance and patience thatsgot me through all these cds and ten years of work. (im currently using Reason3, Fruity Loops occasionally and Cool Edit pro). ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- Myspace followers also have followed the current project that im working on cd.18 "THE UNEXPECTED" which is in the stages of beingcompleted. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- Im now finally in the stages of concentrating on myself as an artist and working on my solo album that should hopefully completed by sometime in the summer 2008 (god willing lol). ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------- Also ive learnt from dealing with fake waste people and only currently deal with someone talented who is the only person that i trust entirely...... My lil brother ALEX MACK who is an upcoming intellectual rapper. Were collectively known as THE GENTLEMANS GUILD. Be on the look out for his solo mixtape as well as the GG (Gentlemans guild) album. Its gonna be hot believe me. ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- MYSPACE LISTENERS: I jus want to thank everyone for taking time to listen to UNDADAWG ENTERTAINMENT, also for reading and check out this profile.
