I am the guitarist for the Death/Black Metal band Amalachyte.. Its my favorite thing to do among other things :). I couldnt tell you the name of every fucking obscure underground metal band like some people, so I hope that would mean my music comes from my heart and Im not emulating someone else... I'm not a religious person, but its not god I hate, its the people that worship him. The ones that go to church on Sunday and give the shaft to everyone in their life for self gain on Monday(they know who they are). The hypocrites. Im sure not all who go to church are bad people, they're just clinging to a belief that they think will save them from themselves. Sorry guys, but to quote Shakespeare, "To thine own self be true"....anyway, enough of the ranting.. Amalachyte was formed in March of '02 in Huntington, West Virginia by Lane, Jimi and Danny(Me), we called the band God Machine at first(being how it is a 60 billion dollar a year "INDUSTRY", at least porn makes more, LOL!). Starting out just messing around in Jimi's living room with some riffs and drum beats eventually it turned into a weekly ritual. As the band started writing more material, the need for a bass player and vocalist surfaced. God Machine was fortunate enough to find Jason, who could do both sing and play bass. After Jason got into the swing of things our music started to really take shape. We got the opportunity to play with bands like Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus and Cattle Decapitation..After almost 2 years Jimi decided he wanted to do something else, and quit. In January 05' God Machine and Lane(drums) went their separate ways, but Danny and Jason stuck together to form Amalachyte. Amalachyte went well for roughly 5-6mos, but took a shit after a bunch of logistical issues, I think. Anyway, thats where we were at in July 05'. In October 05' Jason returned after the opportunities didnt quite work out, we are glad to have him back. We had a vocalist, but that didn't work out and he was asked to leave, he could sing, but getting here was trying at best. We added a new vocalist, one who actually drove and could get here, but unfortunately music wasn't a priority for him so he got the boot as well. After that we decided to stay a 3 piece because it was just too much of a pain in the ass to play nanny to people to make sure they got to practice on time or even showed up at all.. Writing continued and I started doing some work at The Monkeybar, cooking.. I did manage to book one show, Deicide, which was just fucking bad ass.. It was awesome to work with them as well as share the stage. They're fucking legends after all...We have been fortunate enough to have some friends (Angerstrike) in the region who have booked us a show or two and we will be in Cincinnati February 24th to jam with our new friends in Retribution and we look forward to many more shows in the future. If you want to know more, then message us...
