Poetry, dogs (yeah SPCA!), going to the movies, hiking, swimming- basically anything outdoors, crossword puzzles, candles, chatting on the phone, cooking/baking (yeah dessert!)
Interesting, mature, intelligent, witty, energetic, honest, compassionate, good-hearted people, who work hard and play hard. People who like dogs and know good jokes and try not to be mean on purpose. Anyone who likes to play Scrabble or watch Jeopardy or has seen every episode of Sex and the City. Last but not least, anyone who is possibly that next new friend that's going to make you laugh or change your mind or introduce you to your next favorite food/song/sport. Just say hello it's not that hard!
I like everything except most heavy metal. In my cd collection there's everything from Ana Nalik to Snow Patrol to Garth Brooks to Ozomatli. At the gym I listen to a lot of Techno/Trance/Happy Hardcore. When I'm in a goofy or party mood I pop in the club mixes (MTV party to go!) or a little George Michael, etc.
My two favorite types of movies? Romantic Comedies and Action flicks! Pretty odd, I know, but that's just me. I can recite entire lines from Star Wars and Rambo (part I or II) or Wedding Planner and Sixteen Candles. Some favorties: Point Break, Bridget Jone's Diary, Snatch, High Fidelity, Must Love Dogs, Grosse Point Blank (or pretty much anything with John Cusack), Much Ado About Nothing, Ice Age, Finding Nemo, The Cutting Edge, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Sweetest Thing, Something's Gotta Give, Office Space, Down with Love, Bed of Roses, Zoolander, Love Actually. Favorite Movie of all time: Braveheart.
Gray's Anatomy! General Hospital, Road Rules/Real World, Lost, CSI (Las Vegas only!), Animal Precint, Best Week Ever, Jeopardy. ( I don't have time to watch much...but I love tv!)
There are too many to list (hello, English major...), but top three authors: Toni Morrison, William Shakespeare, Dean Koontz. As you can see, my reading material is pretty diverse.
The matriarchs of my life: my grandma Nadine Miller, and my greatgrandmother Anne Castor. And in general, all writers, anyone who has the dedication and the talent to finish a written work and then the guts to put it out there.
