About Me

I still have to pimp the Leaf.
What's the point of looking at a money MySpace profile if there's nothing ABOUT me?? Well... I'm a Taurus... 5'10"... I'm built for comfort, not speed. Seriously, though... seriously... A real quick rundown of my life goes like this: I was born in Rockville, Connecticut. I moved to Tolland when I was 8. I went to school at Tolland High, and was sort of a class clown. I was a little bastard in school. Thank God that my dad lost his job. In 1997, we moved to Tucson, AZ. I started doing better in school, and I made awesome new friends (Aislyn, Peter, John... holla if you find me)... Then my dad got a job... in Sacramento, CA. We moved again. I went to school first at Roseville High, which is the same high school that New England Patriots linebacker, Tedy Bruschi went to. Either way... I didn't stay there long, and I finished up school at Oakmont High School... which is the same high school that Olympic Gold Medalist, Summer Sanders went to. Right out of high school, I got a job as an intern in the IT department at NEC Electronics. I was hired on and stayed there from 1999 to 2001 when I was laid off because our department was outsourced. The company I interviewed with liked me, so I got a job with Hewlett Packard. 6 months later, my job was once again eliminated. The company transferred me to AeroJet/Northrup Grumman. There was talks of layoffs once again, so I called my boss at NEC and asked him to be a reference on my resume. He asked me if I needed a job, and I told him... Yeah... probably. 2 weeks later, I was back at NEC. I've been there since. Seriously, though... seriously... NEC is probably the best thing that's happened to me. At such a young age, I got such amazing experience... I was able to be a role model for Kevin and support him and help him stay on the right track... I met my best friend, Reggie... I met a good friend, Carissa... through both of them, I found God. My life has been good, and it's only getting better. I'm now crazy in love with Jenni. She is the most loving, caring, kind-hearted person I've ever known. She keeps me laughing all the time. I can't imagine anyone more inspiring and compassionate. Throughout all of this life, I've done enough bad things to learn from them, and I think my life is at a crossroads right now. I know the path I'm taking, and I know the destination... I just don't know the places I'll visit along the way. (And........ done with the cheesy cliche... thanks for listening).
I was listening to Janis Joplin while cleaning up just now, and got to "Ball and Chain". I don't know where it was recorded, but she stops at the end and gives a little speech... I've always thought that it was awesome. She may have just been preaching to the hippies, but it works quite well to Christians, and just everyone in general. Excuse the cuss word, please.
"I don't understand... How come... You're gone, man? I don't understand why half the world is still crying, man... when the other half of the world is still crying too, man... An' I can't get it together. I mean... If you gotta care for one day, man... I mean... say... say maybe you wanna care for 365 days, right? You ain't got 365 days. You got it for one day, man. Well, I tell you... that one day, man, better be your life. Because, you know, you can say, "Aww man" You can cry about the 364, man, but you're gonna lose that one day, man. And that's all you got. You gotta call that love, man. That's what it is, man. If you got it today, you don't wear it tomorrow, man... cause you don't need it. Cause as a matter of fact... as we discover on the terrain... tomorrow never happens, man... It's all the same fucking day, man... So you gotta... when you wanna hold somebody. You gotta hold them like it's the last minute of your life. You gotta hold it... Cause some day some weight's gonna come on your shoulders babe. It's gonna feel too heavy. It's gonna weigh on ya. It's gonna feel just like a ball and chain." - Janis Joplin
I read a book, Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. He wrote a cool quote that I never want to forget:
I believe that the greatest trick of the devil is not to get us into some sort of evil, but rather have us wasting time. This is why the devil tries so hard to get Christians to be religious. If he can sink a man's mind into habit, he will prevent his heart from engaging God.
Wow.

My Interests

Skiing and Snowboarding has to be my #1 activity. I LOVE Attending Concerts. I've seen Dave Matthews 11 times, Carbon Leaf 7 times, Jason Mraz 5 times, and Jack Johnson 3 times. I've been to heaps more concerts, but those are the ones that I enjoyed the most. I am a PADI certified Scuba Diver. I haven't been in a while, but I'm certified. I LOVE Bowling. I had to give it up for a while because I had tendinitis, but I can still drop a 200 game here and there. I volunteer at Infineon Raceway. I am a race fan... not as much as I used to be, but I still love attending races. New England Patriots football is WHERE IT'S AT!!! I've seen them play only once, but it was at Lambeau Field. I've seen Notre Dame play twice so far. That's the coolest campus around! Definitely my favorite so far. I love the time that actually do get to spending with my family. I don't get to see my brothers hardly at all anymore even though we only live 20 miles away at the most. They all kick serious butt!! I love spending time with my new friends. It seems I'm making new friends all the time.

I'd like to meet:

First and foremost... I can't wait to meet my Lord, Jesus Christ. Next on the list other people dead and alive: Tedy Bruschi, Jerry Garcia, Zach Braff, Donald Miller, Elliott Smith, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. Update to the list... I met Rob Bell. So there's a check on that one now. There are a lot more people on that list that I can't think of right now... More than 90% of these people, I'd just like to meet people that I already know... go back to Connecticut and meet up with all my old friends...

I am a weirdo. I get emotionally distraught when I arrange my top friend's list. I worry about how will people react when they see that they've been moved down... In this group of friends, why is this one before this one?? I know no one else really cares, but it kinda bugs me. So don't give me crap about where you are on my top friend's list... or about who else is where...

Books:

The Holy Bible, Books by Donald Miller: Blue Like Jazz, Searching for God Knows What, Through Painted Deserts, and To Own A Dragon. I have never been so fully entertained while reading a book as I was when I read Through Painted Deserts. Even for non-Christians, it is an absolutely delightful story. Excellent book!!! Aside from that... I don't read much... but I can see that changing. :D I loved these books... To Own A Dragon was simply awesome. If you never had a father figure in your life, Donald Miller hits home incredible truths about the need for postitive male role models in the home. Velvet Elvis was an AWESOME book... I loved it. The Pursuit of God was good, but I read it while doing an exhausting "Experiencing God" study, and I kinda burnt out on it. I recently finished Rob Bell's "Sex God".

Heroes:

Mom and Dad for ALWAYS being there, My brother Kevin for keeping me honest and my brother Adam for helping me grow in ways I never knew I could. Reggie and Kristal for being two of the best friends anyone could ask for, even if you are 2000 miles away. Carissa for working me back to the right path. Jenni for being the most incredible support and inspiration. And above all else, Jesus Christ for being The Ransom. My debt was paid and I now belong to Him. Thank you all for everything that you have done for me. I love you all!

And Nate. Our server at BJ's. He was AWESOME and I told him he was my hero for bringing us free bread and free Pazookie's!!!
