Growing up in Oklahoma, I played many sports and earned a track and field scholarship to Oklahoma State University, where I graduated with a degree in advertising in 1985. Afterward I headed for Nashville to follow in the footsteps of my musical hero, George Strait. my first efforts at a career in country music first met with total failure, interesting, considering the fact that he has sold 81 million albums, more than Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley or the Beatles today.
