About Me

Layout powered by HOT FreeLayouts
I like these quotes but don't know where they came from...
Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself. Never pity yourself. Be a hard master to yourself - and be lenient to everybody else.
When is the last time you did something for the first time?
If you were me, and I, you, would we be friends?
If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.
When I find myself fading, I close my eyes and realize my friends are my energy.
Don't look back you are not going that way.
I'm a 47 year old postal worker... and yes I have guns and yes I know how to shoot them :) Do I take them to work? hell NO! I like my job - the co-workers aren't bad overall either.
I have 2 children; both grown up and out on their own now. Well kinda :) Even have grandkids now - one boy named Michael and a girl named Emma! The kids are doing well, ok maybe not all that well but they are learning many valuable life's secrets... I think that's how MY mom put it when I went through life's hell hehe
I'm working on getting my life back in order after too many months of chaos. It's time to look up and look forward and start moving in those directions. Think I"m doing an ok job of it too. I've been doing a ton of introspection and learning a whole lot about myself; not all of it pretty and some of it down right hard to face. But each step is a learning and growth experience and at 47, I need them more than ever!
Life's not a movie... the hero doesn't always come running to save the day and sometimes the dragon really does win. We shall see...

My Interests

Fluffy Meter!

In life: everything!

All arts and crafts... I can paint you a picture... mend your fishing nets or make lace for your shirts.
I enjoy medieval research... I'm involved in the local Ren Faire ( Olde World Renaissance Faire )
I love computers and computer games. I'm trying out a few new to me games; Dragonshard... Morrowind... etc.
Pets.. I have at the moment 3 dogs, 3 cats and 3 birds :) nothing compared to what I have had in past years... things as exotic as sugar gliders... lizards... macaws, etc

I've slowed down in recent years, but do enjoy walks in the woods.. the smell of freshly fallen leaves.. Camping and laying in a boat in the sunshine fishing or just reading a book... cooking and baking.. the beach at sunrise and sunset.. the feel of sand between my toes.. the exhilaration of a snowball fight :) I love the look of the newly fallen snow... when everything is still white.; or ice on the trees with the sun glistening off them.. Diamonds in the snow

I'd like to meet:

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader, the center of his universe. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion. " Anonymous

Music:

Drums... I can get lost in the beat and just travel away. Some of my favorite times are when our local Renaissance Faire closes for the day, they have a huge drum circle... and everyone just lets go. I've always been too self conscious to dance but have always wanted to :) maybe some day... I dance in my heart..

I also play music. Played keyboard for almost 40 years now... Gee... didn't realize it had been that long. Music is my escape. I can get lost pounding a keyboard... close my eyes (ok, not often.. can't memorize music... gotta peek)... and can't play anymore... carpal sucks.. *cry*
