I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am 28, christian, and single. I am working on my doctorate (Education: Curriculum and Instruction, K-12). Hopefully will be done in 2009 if all goes well. I got my masters in Elementary Education in '04 at the University of Phoenix-Hawai..i Campus and my bachelors in Recreation in '02 at Henderson State University. I substitute-teach various schools and lifeguard at Kailua Pool, not much excitement in the job world at the moment, but it works. I have lived in IL, IA, IN, KY, MS, CA, MN, AR, and HI, plus 5 months in OH in my mother's womb if you count that. I totally love where I'm at now!

My Interests

Faith Baptist Church (though it's more non denominational than anything), Kailua Masters Swim Club, competing open water swim races, swim, hike, bike, beach, softball (on the church team), watching the Chicago Cubs, travel, new scenary, airplane rides, fountains, bodyboard, scrapbook, writing, sudukos, chocolate, clocks, cheese, fruit stickers, volunteering at the hospital, being scared from behind, etc.

I'd like to meet:

The love of my life whenever God brings that guy to me. :) Hopefully it won't be forever. Wish there as a way to find guys to date. I do love to meet people though and interact with them. Each and every person that I have met in my life has a very special place in my heart. It'd also be fun to meet characters on TV shows as if I'm on the show too and I always thought it would be fun to teach a class of my own elementary school classmates, including myself, to see what that would be like! I got to meet my favorite ball player (since age 12) Ryne Sandberg in 2002 (got a picture with him), plus 2 Day of our Lives actors (Peter Reckel and Bryan Datillo), Bill Nye the Science Guy, some olympic swimmers, and others.

Music:

Yes, I'm a sucker for R&B and rap-kine music. My mom hates it, but my stepdad loves it. :) I don't like the words used sometimes though and I love it when it's used for christian lyrics. I also love gospel (generally my favorite kind of worship music, as well as singing hymns and I love what we sing at Friday night bible study), jazz, and most other things.

Movies:

Field of Dreams, Groundhog Day, Catch Me if You Can, and so much more! I generally like funny movies or ones with a good storyline. Sometimes I just wind up watching reruns if I am doing schoolwork at the same time since I don't have to focus as much.

Television:

Days of Our Lives, Gilmore Girls, 7th Heaven, Rescue 911, Amen, 227, Maude, Brady Bunch, Face the Music, Scrabble, Concentration, Wheel of Fortune, Win, Lose, or Draw, Alf, Growing Pains, Who's the Boss, Too Close For Comfort, Mr. Belvedere, Empty Nest, Jefferson's, Name that Tune, Face the Music, Tic, Tac, Dough, Press Your Luck, Sale of the Century, Square One, Smurfs, Jetsons, Jem, Punky Brewster, Dennis the Menace, Peewee's Playhouse, Just the Ten of Us, I Dream of Jeannie, Golden Girls, Two Stupid Dogs, Johnny Bravo, Step By Step, Hogan's Family, Fresh Prince, My Two Dad's, Recess, Seinfeld, Soap, Married With Children, Unhappily Ever After, Wayans Bros, Remote Control, Quicksilver, Wipeout, Supermarket Sweep, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Green Acres, Jeopardy, Double Dare, You Can't Do That on Television, Fifteen, Hey Dude, Mama's Family, Saved By the Bell, Silver Spoons, Webster, Lingo, Phenom, She's the Sheriff, Bewitched, Salute Your Shorts, Small Wonder, Doogie Howser, Prostars, James Bond Junior, Muppet Babies, Charlie's Angels, Hot Potato, Play the Percentages, Tattletales, Price is Right, Two Stupid Dogs, Yogi Bear, Beavis and Butthead, Simpson's, Daria, Facts of Life, Soap, Different Strokes, and tons more.

Books:

The Bible is the best, but generally I like the short books or something I can actually follow. :) I collect some of the childhood ones I love and are classic, plus I love to read ones that provide information, as well as biographies.

Heroes:

God.

First came here 6 years ago today!

Yep, first came here on May 9th, 2001. All started back in December, 2000 when going through old clothes in my sister's room. I found a Hawai`i one that our dad had sent her from his trip here in '97 ...
