About Me

I am 33 years old, female, I have pink dreds, some tatoos, some piercings. I'm married ( 3 years now) to a lovely man (most of the time) I am a mature (ha!) student at Brighton Uni, studying History of design-it's a very good course and I am working hard alot of the time (honest). I'm in my second year, I did so well last year I got a merit based scholarship and I'm finding a bit of a hard act to follow. I do, however, like to play hard too! I love the outdoors, outdoor parties and festivals. We have a marquee which we hire out for festivals and parties and weddings (see pics), which doesn't make much money, but sustains our summer festival-going! Not sure how long we will be continuing with this as change is in the air, I think another summer at least but the need to move on, perhaps into organising our own festival, however I think I need to get my dissertation out of the way first. I love gardening and I'm grew loads of veggies this year (2007)(after neglecting the garden for a bit), it's very exciting. I also have a big black van which we've converted into a camper (also holds the marquee) I am obsessed with recycling and reducing waste, I think that everyone should be more responsible for themselves and not just rely on the infrastructure that is provided for them. Eventually I want to live in an eco friendly house that is built using sustainable materials and is powered by renewable resources and is not connected to the grid. I'd love to grow and farm as much of my own food as possible too--one day. I love spending time with my friends and family--I have family that are like friends and friends that are like family--having as much fun as possible. I enjoy cooking and entertaining, good red wine, good vodka and tonic, cocktails, (though I have been off the booze pretty much since the beginning of summer 2007) decaf tea with soya milk (pathetic excuse for tea--but I just can't do caffeine), I don't really eat processed foods, I am vehemently against pre-packed sandwiches, I don't drink fizzy pop, I eat meat (with respect as I was vegetarian for 13 years), Broccoli is my fave food, along with olives, squid and hummous. (not necessarily all together). I'm really into sea food and I have stopped eating wheat since the end of summer and have dropped 3 dress sizes. I love travelling, although I worry about the emissions air travel causes, so I offset it using the carbon neutral company. We've been to Egypt 3 times in 2007, finally on the second trip got to see the pyramids on a crazy fear and loathing trip. I learnt to dive finally on that trip- which is my new passion, I've just got back from becoming an ADVENTURE diver (3/5 of the way to being an advanced diver), I particularly enjoyed the deep dive (got narcosis) and the night dive, though we did have one disastarous ludicrously rubbish dive which just had to laughed about.I'm at a bit of a cross-roads in my life at the mo cause I want to have kids and the ol biological clock is ticking, plus i've been having tests and apparently I am not producing enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy. I'm being referred to a gyanachologist in the NY to see if they can sort it out. It means I'll have to give up alot of my fave things for a while including diving!!!! OH NO!!! Well, we'll see what will happen. I enjoy meeting people, and I have a wide circle of friends from all walks of life.
