JtheSarge is a well known musician in northern California’s “redwood curtainâ€. For 12 years he has been building his repertoire and sound. Whether on the mic, the bass guitar or behind the controls, J is constantly pushing the envelope in the genres of hip hop and reggae. Having worked with the likes of hip hop pioneers KRS 1, Myka 9, Medusa, 2mex, Busdriver, and reggae sensations’ Shinehead, Ras Attitude, and Ishi Dube, J has gained a lot of necessary stage presence and experience. He has opened up for the likes of Mr. Lif, Del the Funky Homosapien, Guru, and Dead Prez. Sky’s the limit for Sarge, as he is affectionately known, especially with the new project he and Myka 9 have created, the Magic Heart Genies.
