About Me

This election will probably feature Obama and McCain and I think that will be neat.

My Interests

Where to begin... I'm really into traveling and experiencing different cultures: music has taken me into some, surfing into others. The surfers call it wanderlust, and the search for something other than perfect surf has landed me in France, Ireland, England, Italy, and Canada. Surfing has brought me to Costa Rica seven times, Mexico twice, the Maldive islands, and Sri Lanka. Circumstance has landed me in Canada and Dubai, places where I've been bored enough to read myself to sleep, something else I like to do. Music is my life, and my favorite memories are NOT the amazing venues and crowds that I'm now privledged to play for, but the ones that really meant something: Midtown Tavern, Johnny's Rockin Bistro, Dante's Inferno, DIY. Those were the days, before music was a business and before long-haired producers entered the picture and reframed it all. I love running into old friends, and making new ones. My loves are music, surfing, and travel, and fortunatly the three run hand in hand. I'm a part of the most amazing friends and family on the planet, and if you don't believe me, come spend time with them. My favorite memories are ancient and below the surface, and my favorite people are always close by.

I'd like to meet:

"Religion has made us obsessive almost beyond endurance. Jesus invited us to a dance... and we've turned it into a march of soldiers, always checking to see if we're doing it right and are in step and in line with the other soldiers. We know a dance would be more fun, but we believe we must go through hell to get to heaven, so we keep marching." - Steve Brown"Within any important issue, there are always aspects no one wishes to discuss." - George Orwell"Religion and art are saying the same things — stop, pay attention, be aware of the depth of time, see people, see others, be human." - Frederick Buechner"There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesome returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact." - Mark Twain"The current near-hysterical preoccupation with safety is at best a waste of resources and a crimp on the human spirit, and at worst an invitation to totalitarianism. Public education is desperately needed." - Michael Crichton

Music:

All the bands I like are breaking up. I'm over music.

Movies:

Back To The Future, Jurassic Park, Ghost Busters, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Batman... you know. The ones we grew up on.

Television:

Only recently have I discovered this television you speak of... Lost, 24, The Simpsons... I wait for it to get popular and for everyone to tell me what to watch. Sorry, I can't be up on everything.

Books:

Anything by Michael Crichton, Steve Brown, John Grisham. My favorites are The War Of Art, The World Is Flat, On The Road, Alas Babylon, and The Bible.

Heroes:

My grandfather, my sister, my old band mates, my family, my friends.

My Blog

Im confused.

1. I thought it was global warming, not an arsonist. 2. Could it possibly be that small, periodic fires are necessary from time to time to clear out the dead underbrush, clearing the way for new plan...
