About Me

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." --Albert Einstein
I'm fascinated my topics such as philosophy, psychology, mythology, mysterious happenings/places, and the paranormal. I love researching and thinking about things we don't understand and have been that way for as long as I can remember, particularly after some experiences I had as a small child.
I see myself not as a religious person but rather more of a philosophical, spiritual person. My search for answers is a personal, ever-changing one and while I'm open-minded, I don't care for people who try to push their way as being the "only" way or the "right" one. I see all of us as part of a bigger picture and I'm fascinated by life's riddles and enigmas.
Other Random Stuff: I'm a big believer intuition and listening to your heart but I think it's also important that you "do your homework." I think it's very important to have time for work and play-- moderation is the key.
What Hero Are You?
While I'm a forgiving person, I tend to not forget when someone does me wrong. I'm a romantic and a sucker for "we are meant to be together" movies. I dislike being around people are mean or stir up trouble for others. I think that it's more important sometimes to be understanding than fair.
As I get older I'm trying to work on not being such a worrywart and letting some things go. People often say that I have a "serious look" on my face most of the time but I think that's just because I'm concentrating or working something out in my head. I suppose that some people misread me because of this.
I'm sensitive so I find myself having to distance myself from people at times otherwise I get to caught up in their feelings and problems. I find that people often want to come to me (yeah, me of all people!) for advice or just to vent so I guess that may be part of the problem.
This whole sensitivity thing may also explain why I find it difficult to watch some of the talk shows and the news. While I like being around people I also need a lot of time alone or with my family. I'm very protective of my "me" time--otherwise I get grouchy! lol
According to this Meyer-Briggs Personality Test I am an INFP . Over the years I have bounced back and forth between INFJ and INFP but on the day that I took this test I was an INFP.
You Are a Seeker Soul
You are on a quest for knowledge and life challenges. You love to be curious and ask a ton of questions. Since you know so much, you make for an interesting conversationalist. Mentally alert, you can outwit almost anyone (and have fun doing it!).
Very introspective, you can be silently critical of others. And your quiet nature makes it difficult for people to get to know you. You see yourself as a philosopher, and you take everything philosophically. Your main talent is expressing and communicating ideas.
Souls you are most compatible with: Hunter Soul and Visionary Soul.
What Kind of Soul Are You?
You Have a Melancholic Temperament
Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything. You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life.
You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you. Given enough time alone, it's easy for you to find inner peace.
You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life. Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times.
At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you. You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others. You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult.
What Temperment Are You?
Western Zodiac Sign : Cancer (The Crab)
Chinese Zodiac Animal Sign : The Water Rat

I've been sorted!

Take the most scientific HP quiz on the net and get sorted now!

My Results:
Hufflepuff - 13
Ravenclaw - 13
Gryffindor - 9
Slytherin - 8

Since there was a tie, I went back and changed one answer which then gave me one more for Ravenclaw. But overall, I think I would fit into either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff quite well.

I'm basically your average homebody. It's not that I'm antisocial or anything but I've never been into the club or bar scene. I would much rather be at home with my husband and daughter. I really love reading and watching movies. And when I'm not doing those things, I'm usually working full time, cleaning, bicycling, walking, going online, playing mystery computer games, taking hot bubble baths, catching up on sleep, or daydreaming. I also enjoy collecting several different types of cards, including Harry Potter trading cards. I really hope that with the upcoming Twilight film that they put out some movie cards.

I'm the webmaster of Dew's Matrix Fan Page . It has educational articles about the first film. I'm a bit of an armchair screenwriter too. I have all of these ideas and notes floating around my house but who knows if I will ever get around to writing my stories.

While I am interested in environmental causes, I try to stay balanced about it and just take steps where I can. For instance, the bus and my bike usually get me wherever I need to go. My husband and I also have a very small garden and we get a lot of our produce from a local co-op. While I eat a lot of organic/healthy food, I have to admit that I still eat my share of junk food too-- especially chocolate and ice cream! And I love to eat cereal for dinner when I come home late from work and I don't feel like cooking anything. Some people are surprised by the fact that I haven't eaten pork or beef in over ten years. I also try my best to recycle, use products made from recycled materials, buy second hand, and also purchase items from ethical companies.

I'd like to meet:

I enjoy spending time with people who are real, upbeat, funny, caring, and like discussing movies and books. Of course, Harry Potter, Twilight series, and Moonlight fans are always cool as are my page visitors.

I fell in love with reading thanks to a kind (yet spooky!) librarian that I met when I was in 1st grade. Books and the characters in them were my best friends growing up lol. I love just the smell of books and I practically lived at the library. I would check out everything I could about mysteries and spooky events. Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books were early favorites as were "David And The Phoenix" by Edward Ormondroyd," "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" and "Through The Looking Glass" by Lewis Carroll, E.L Konigsburg's "From The Mixed-Up Files Of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" and poems from Shel Silverstein's "A Light In The Attic" and "Where The Sidewalk Ends."
I specifically like mysteries and books of that are suspenseful, fantastical, magical, or supernatural in nature. I think I spend more time in the kids section of the bookstore than the adult section!
My Reading List Includes:
"Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" by Susanna Clarke
"The Grand Tour" by Patricia C. Wrede and Caroline Stevermer
Just Finished Rereading:
"Twilight," "New Moon," and "Eclipse" by Stephenie Meyer.
Some All Time Favorites:
Agatha Christie mysteries
Favorites include "Crooked House," "Ordeal By Innocence," and "Death On The Nile"
The Harry Potter series by JK Rowling
I waited way too long to start reading this series because I was suspicious of the hype. Big mistake.
The Trixie Belden series
I'm sooo happy they have been reissued! Yes, I admit that I got teary-eyed when I saw them at Barnes and Noble.
The Choose Your Own Adventure series.
Another fun series that is now back in print! I couldn't get my hands on enough of these as a kid because they were always checked out!
The Charlie Bone series by Jenny Nimmo
Nope, it's not a clone of the HP series. Yes, the series does have a similar background but it is remarkable in its own right.
Jane Austen's novels
The mistress of wit and romance. I especially love Pride and Prejudice as well as Emma.
"The Onion Girl" by Charles De Lint
A fantantic novel. It has a section towards the middle that has some disturbing content but if you get through it, it's worth it. A book that ends so beautifully that you should be prepared to have a box of tissues within reach.
"Papillon" by Henri Charriere and "Go Ask Alice" by Anonymous
Two books that you will never forget.

Heroes:

My husband: For his courage, heart, and quiet strength. I love you so much and I am so lucky to have you not just as my husband but as my best friend too!
Our Daughter: For her sweetness, determination, and toughness. She surprises me everyday.
Hermione (from the HP series): For her brains and loyality.
JK Rowling: Not only do I admire her as a writer, but I have the utmost respect for her as a person and mother. Intelligence, originality, creativity, wit, generosity, courage, and kindness --what a combination! We need more role models like her out there.
Spiderman: What a complex, flawed, and beautiful character. The movies are outstanding and Toby Maguire is perfect in the role.
You are Spider-Man Spider-Man 95% Green Lantern 70% Superman 65% Wonder Woman 65% Hulk 65% Robin 62% Supergirl 55% The Flash 50% Batman 45% Catwoman 30% Iron Man 20% You are intelligent, witty,
a bit geeky and have great
power and responsibility.
