Johnny (J.B.) BLANKS

In New York City, the heart of the entertainment industry, where dreams are made or broken, Johnny Blanks, Creative Development & Management Specialist, has built over 20 years professional entertainment experience as an artist, artist manager, fashion director and fashion show coordinator, actor, singer/songwriter, producer, dancer and motivational speaker. Mr. Blanks has devoted his life to the entertainment industry, predominantly in the areas of creative development and fashion. Mr. Blanks is the CEO of his own Artist Development company, DMI Inc. and has a proven track record with developing, grooming and preparing artists for the mainstage. He has been the Fashion Director for Pan Zai Fashion for 8 years. J.B. is also the Fashion Coordinator for the Ambassodor Dr. Bobby Jones International Gospel Artist & Industry Retreat.
As a Motivational Speaker J.B. has a strong passion for our youth and the way they express their anger. "I spend a lot of time motivating them to reach their true potential. I understand what it feels like to be without. My own childhood was one of not having my parents in my life to help raise me, but to find out about life thru the teachings of my great-grandmother (MOM) who was a strong mother from the old old school. We need to be better parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents so they can have a chance to enjoy a world of abundance. Share our story, share our life, share our love so they can "Let Go To Grow." If I can do one thing with the life I have lived, I will continue to share with them the lessons I have learned so they can accomplish their dreams earlier in life."
Mr. Blanks is veteran of the United States Navy. After an Honorable Discharge in 1980, he began his entertainment career in New York City, eventually building a solid reputation in the music business, associating with labels such as Jus Borne Records, Arista, Bad Boy, Motown and Abandon Entertainment (to name a few). He brings to the platform the wealth and depth of his personal experiences and those from within the industry. He has also received a Public Proclamation from the Mayor and the City of Mt. Vernon for Honorable contributions and achievements as a Motivational Speaker, Entertainer and Youth Development Coordinator; working with incarcerated women and youth.
J.B. is the manager of "Canada's Gospel Diva" Kathy Grant. She has recently worked with 10xGrammy Winning Producer, Kevin Bond on her new CD. J.B. is the Co-Founder of the Canadian Gospel Music Conference and Vice President of KGM Enterprises, a Four Star Entertainment Company in Ottawa, ON. He has also recently been appointed as Vice President of Sereniti Records based in Atlanta, GA.
