About Me

As the thick weed smoke swirls and hovers threw the sky, while Marvin Gay sings his sweet lulbye's "lets get on" over the speakers of a beat down juke box sitting in the corner of a small club called Dots that stood on 44th and 17th ave in a part of Columbus that we call Bellwood. There Mall Doon stood at the tender age of 4 getting introduced to his first taste of music and also to a side of life were he had to rely on his wits and passion to get out of. Mall grew up in a single parent household his father got caught up in the streets and drugs leaving Mall his mother, and his sister to fend for themselves. Mall said, ( I can say pops taught me one thing to be selfreliant, dont depend on nobody, people can sell u wolf tickets all day but its up to you to make shit happen). Mall stayed all over in Columbus from Benning hills to Azela Gardens to being completely homless in a shelter called The house of Mercy ( as a child we learned to endur some of the most adverse conditions we had no choice that was just a part of life). His mother was a strong black women she held it down on her own, but with no father figer present other than a couple of of uncle's that stayed in and out of prison Mall turned to the streets. (Man we first started doing lil stupid shit stealing radios and speakers then stealing cars joy riding then due to lack of guidence and discipline it escalated to getting involed wit drugs thats when shit started to wake me up my folks was getting locked up for longer and longer periods of time). Around that time Mall had a older cousin that was rappin in Atlanta (at the time I was about 12 at that time we moved up to Atlanta and was staying off Old Natl my cousin Willie was rappin at the time I use to go to his show's and that life stlye seemed so captavating to me it was liked a beam of sunlight in my world of darkness). From that point on Mall started to persue that sunlight over the years developing a style and a swagger thats next to non( I consider my music far from just a bunch of slick word play on a beat its much more than that its my testimony I paint a vivid picture of my life or situations that I have been in or going threw I take the listener on a journey threw my eyes. Therefore I consider my self as the new extraordinary leader coming out of the south.(It's not that I'm being boastful I view my work as an art form and approach it with the same intensity and ego as any ambitious artist would.)So on that note stay tuned for the Mall Doon Movement coming out the Ctown this dude is going boldly were no man has gone before just watchem.
