Still searching for true North.

About Me

I'm only sure of a few things.* I'm a writer. This is what I feel most comfortable doing. * I have been blessed with the love of an exceptional woman. * My children are kind people; I am proud of that and of them. * Last .... the greatest power in the universe is LOVE.These are the things I am truely certain of, and all the rest .... (shrug) it's all on the periphery; worth a glance but not an unflinching gaze.

My Interests

writing, my wife, my kids, inline skating, history, film, human interaction, the world around me, peanut butter

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interested in contributing to the general betterment of something other than their own interest ..... takers can take their asses somewhere else. And of course Paris Hilton .... so that's it .... contributors to the social betterment of all humankind and Paris..... maybe not in that exact order.

Music:

love some of it .... like all of it. amazed that some pieces can evoke so much with so little .... listen to Ring of Fire (Johnny Cash) total of 83 words in that song and yet it kicks ass! So does he (somewhere out there) and country is my least fav

Movies:

Seven Samaurai, Amalie, Army of Darkness, Punch Drunk Love, Brazil, O Brother, Adaptation, Singing In The Rain, LOTR, Chicago, Gunga Din, Willie Wonka (ooh-ahh-ooh) .... a few thousand others

Television:

If they had a television show about not watching television ... I'd like that. There's really not much on worth a damn.

Books:

Life of Pi, Memoris of A Geish, Lord of the Rings, Slaughterhouse Five, On The Road, Waiting For Aphrodite, A Natural History of Love, All The Pretty Horses, Heart of Darkness, The Collected Stories of William Faulkner, Anthiem, Atlas Shrugged, The House of Changing Woman, Kite Runner

Heroes:

Mohammad Ali, Wangari Maathai, Cervantes, Robert Service, Queen Elizabeth, Bono, Ophra, Christ, Buddah, Ghandi, my mother, my father, my wife and my children.
