I'm usually not good that this sort of thing...I like to work hard and play hard...well, I work alot more than I play...but I do get a wild hair from time to time. I was born and raised in Wv. I migrated to good ol' South Carolina for about 5 and and a half years, and since then I've been all over....and of course I have been enjoying the amazing scenery that we all know as the ocean....I am definitely a pretty laid back person...I love sports..all different types of music...FOOD...the beach of course...reading...any outdoor activity...Animals are very close to my heart...as are children...As far as life experiences...I have learned a lot in these oh-so-long-yet-so-short-twenty two years..most people would say that I am ahead of my years...But I like to take one day at a time and handle different opportunities as they come..I try to maintain a positive attitude and I find that if I do that and take my time life can be rewarding on many different levels....and most importantly..my FAMILY means the world to me! At the end of the day, they're all you've got... Let's see...I don't think that I am a pessimist nor an optimist..more of a realist if you will.... I think that politics are nonsense...but then again who cares what I think? Most people don't...and that's okay. Life goes on and the train is never late! ..I love sharing my thoughts with those open and willing to listen ... .I found out recently that sometimes in life we don't really know what we have until it's no longer there. Sound familiar? BUt how much do we really appreciate it? It usually comes when we least expect it and knocks us sideways on a Wednesday afternoon....What do I say to that? Keep on smiling. Keep your head up! You can't dwell on the past. It's the past for a reason and mistakes are mistakes. Don't beat yourself up over something that is long gone and you can do nothing about.. Learning from our mistakes and moving on is something that makes us who we are and ultimately makes us stronger... You learn that, for the most part you get in life what you believe you deserve, and that much of life truly is a self-fulfilling prophecy. You learn that anything worth achieving is worth working for, and that wishing for something to happen is different from working toward making it happen. More importantly, you learn that in order to achieve success you need direction, discipline, and perseverance. You also learn that no one can do it all alone..and that its OKAY to risk asking for help. You learn the only thing you must truly fear is the greatest robber baron of all: FEAR itself. You learn to step right into and through your fears because you know that whatever happens you can handle it, and to give in to fear is to give the right to live life on your own terms....You come to the realization that you deserve to be treated with love, kindness, sensitivity and respect and you won't settle for less. ..learn to fight for your life and not to squander it living under a cloud of impending doom, and that life isn't always fair, you don't always get what you think you deserve and that sometimes bad things happen to unsuspecting, good people. On these occasions, you learn not to personalize things... it's just life happening. Learn to deal with evil in its most primal state; the ego...so that negative feelings such as anger, envy, and resentment must be understood and redirected or they will suffocate the life out of you and poison the universe that surrounds you. Learn to admit when you are wrong and to build bridges instead of walls. Awaken to the fact that you are not perfect and that not everyone will always love, appreciate or approve of who or what you are ... and that's OKAY. Then we all learn that the importance of loving and championing ourselves and in the process, a sense of new found confidence is born of self-approval. Stop complaining and blaming other people for the things they did to you (or didn't do for you) and the only thing you can really count on is the unexpected. You learn people don't always say what they mean or mean what they say and that not everyone will always be there for you and that it's not always about you. So, learn to stand on your own and to take care of yourself and in the process, a sense of safety & security is born of self-reliance. Stop judging and pointing fingers and begin to accept people as they are and to overlook their shortcomings and human frailties and in the process, a sense of peace & contentment is born of forgiveness. Realize that much of the way you view yourself and the world around you, is a result of all the messages and opinions that have been ingrained into your psyche. Begin to sift through all the junk you've been fed about how you should behave, how you should look and how much you should weigh, what you should wear and where you should shop and what you should drive, how and where you should live and what you should do for a living, who you should marry and what you should expect of a marriage, the importance of having and raising children or what you owe your parents. Learn to open up to new worlds and different points of view. Begin reassessing and redefining who you are and what you really stand for. Wake up and live! :) As you can tell I am a very deep thinker and I'm very intuitive...I try not to take life too seriously, but obviously there is a time and place for everything.... ABOUT ME: I am a big supporter of ONE which is Americans of all beliefs and every walk of life - united as ONE - to help make poverty history. It is a campaign of over 2.4 million people and growing from all 50 states and over 100 of America's most well-known and respected non-profit, advocacy and humanitarian organizations. As ONE, we are raising public awareness about the issues of global poverty, hunger, disease and efforts to fight such problems in the world's poorest countries. As ONE, we are asking our leaders to do more to fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty. ONE believes that allocating more of the U.S. budget toward providing basic needs like health, education, clean water and food would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in the world's poorest countries...This organization holds a very special place in my heart! ONE love is OUR love! .. I love to laugh...I find that laughter is the best remedy, so I always try my best to spead the goodness to others...Lately I've found myself doing some soul searching. Throughout my endeavors and having the opportunity to do a lot of the things I have done lately- I've realized soemthing along the way...I don't have peace of mind. And if I don't have peace of mind I have to ask myself-"what am I doing here?" and "What is my purpose?" Obviously I am still trying to figure it out. I am young, smart, and ambitious. I found recently that I have been "rushing" my life. I haven't truly lived in the moment. Although I have been through many obstacales in my life..the truth is my life is just beginning! I need to take a deep breath and stop and smell the roses. I haven't felt as though I am expressing my true self. I am ready for my soul to shine! My life is my own, and I want to live it to the fullest. Someone once told me that we will have many many obstacles in life and we must move through them rather than trying to get over the hurdle...which couldn't be more true. I am so ready for this long jouney of self discovery and self improvement! Who's with me?!?!...So in closing I'd like to urge all of you to keep a positive outlook on your lives! Positive affirmations are statements about positive things, which create more of the same! Remember to always nourish yourself. Breathe in the breath of life. Embrace the warmth of sunlight or simply a smile :) Trust me, it works.PEACEand<3
