In a time when most artists are trend-followers instead of trend-setters this innovative duo stands out amongst the crowd. Hailed by many as the inevitable saviors of east coast rap the group has been compared lyrically to legends such as Nas, Az and the Wu-Tang and a few others. However any true fan or good listener knows that they have a unique sound all their own. The duo has successfully developed a sound that balances raw lyricism with catchy hooks and soulful tracks. This a feat that is rarely accomplished by today or yesterdays artists. Tru-N-Livin creates their music for the future because good music is timeless. Being raised in Hip Hops "golden era" Tru-N-Livin developed their skill at a time when most competed to be the best at mastering the art form. Rapping and making beats for over 10 years these two brothers are no rookies to the world of Hip Hop. The group has collaborated with artists such as Wu-Tangs own Masta Killa, Allah Real and Joel Ortiz. Tru-N-Livin also has a large fan base outside of the states in London, Germany, Canada and soon to be the whole world. The group has the streets buzzing and the industry shook with their track "simple wordz" addressing the oversaturated market of so called hip hop with watered down party music mainly coming out of the southern region. They have been quoted as saying "this is not a song dissing the south, it is a wake up call for the industry, artists and a theme song for fed up fans of pure Hip Hop. But, take it how you want its all the truth." So what exactly is Tru-N-Livin you may be asking yourself. This question can be answered simply. God on earth. This movement is not underground so never refer to it as such. We are from the heavens above. Tru-N-Livin is the voice of the people who are oppressed and have no forum to express their plight. We make music for a time that has not arrived yet and a people that have not awoken yet. We are hip hops final destination. Hip Hop is the resurrection of the culture and essence of the original people of the planet. It is the ultimate medium for the mind of god to express his word to the youth of the world since they are the future. The 5% are the root and rightful heirs to the throne of hip hop.
