About Me


'The Melendrez Brothers' are a four-piece band from Silverlake. They play an eclectic mix of musical styles that includes: funk, classic rock, hip-hop, reggae, blues, jazz and R&B. The band consists of Alix Melendrez (15), Miles Melendrez (14), Reece Melendrez (13), and Matt Mumcian (15). The band has played at many events and venues in and around the Los Angeles area such as The Los Feliz Street fair, The Feast of San Genarro, Levitt Pavilion, Sunset Junction Street Fair, and most recently The Silverlake Conservatory of music’s annual Hullabaloo featuring Eddie Vedder and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The guys received their musical training at The Silverlake Conservatory of Music, with instructors Marc Rey of Eek-A-Mouse, and Lonnie Marshall of Weapon of Choice among others. They all attended Los Angeles Family School, and Ivanhoe elementary School.
