About Me

Jim Holmes - ran Elmont Recording Studio in Chicago 1997-2000. Elmont was a 16 track analog studio in the basement of the 3022 W. Belmont building. There were several engineers that formed a collective of sorts, bringing in various projects and equipment for recording. Some of the artists recorded include - Bobby Conn, Arab on Radar, Zeek Sheck, Minim, My Lai, Ashtray Boy, The John Huss Moderate Combo, 5 Mile Ceiling, His Hero is Gone, Vida Blue, Racebannon, The Tarts, WooWooStick...... Moved to Portland and began a new electronic experimental collective called "anazumono" which eventually evolved into "The Ether". There are 6 albums and countless outtakes from these projects including several tracks for the films of Edward P. Davee. "The Ramjac" started in fall 2006. The songs were created using old circuit bent drum machines - Roland TR808, TR707, Boss DR550 and a Yamaha DR5, a bastardized Fender guitar with an aluminum neck and a sustainiac pickup, an old-beat-to-shit Gibson SG, a Kramer DMZ5000 aluminum neck bass, as well as some circuit bent children's toys. We finished the album somtime in April. We're currently booking shows and working on a west coast tour for December. The live show features a video background and a singer that strips off most of his clothes while smashing the mic stand into his bandmates' feet and effects pedals. I'm semi-retired as a recording engineer but if you've got something interesting, contact me. And - if you were in a band that recorded at Elmont Studio, I might still have your master tape.
Chris Stamm - He is singer. Drinks of hot water, lemon and honey. Purveyor of eschatological no-sense. Inadvertent concept album-writer. Accidental psychic. Owner of exactly zero microphones. Says "maybe one more vocal track, eh?" Says "throat hurts, beer please." Says "cigarette for hurting chest, maybe?"
Tony Pacific - The newest Ramjackal. Origins unknows. Speaks many languages. Recently acquitted of all charges. Possibly a distant cousin of Billy Ocean.
Sam Cole - Frenchman and former Ramjac guitard. Soundman extraordinaire. Amateur boxer formerly ranked as high as 14th on the European circuit.
