About Me

I use this site to upload partial songs for The Ramjac. We collaborate in a very disconnected, clinical method. This is not the site for my last project The Ether - although it used to be. If you want to hear any of that stuff, just contact me and I'll send you a CD. Info about The Ether below. If you want to know more about The Ramjac, we're in Jim's top friends. If you want to know more about Jim, you're wasting your time.
"The Ether" is a Portland based experimental music collective. The latest album "Bent" was composed largely with circuit bent children's toys and drum machines. Most of the sound recording and manipulation is done in the analog world, 1"- 16 track, while the fine tunin' and cheatin' is ProTools. The concept began in Chicago in 1997 as "The Ramjac Corporation", which was born out of Elmont Recording Studio. When I moved to Portland in 1999, the project was renamed "anazumono" and eventually evoloved into "The Ether". The general theme seems to be form over function, process over technique. Songs have appeared in the films of Ted Davee, most notably "Crowfilm" 2004, as well as various obscure compilations, podcasts, and performance pieces.
