About Me

I grew up in a plantation house until the age of 10 when I relocated to a little blue house on the corner of a paved road and a dirt road in Lincolnton, NC. I lived in the middle of that house beside a sister who lived on the end and parents who lived across the hall. I was a good kid who volunteered and did good things throughout the community while studying to become a ninja after midnight. That's a lie but I felt like my childhood was starting to sound boring.
After an above average high school career, I left home to attend a big school in a small town. I spent five years there (and I'm not a doctor) meeting the very best friends a person could ask for - along with enemies who were equally influential. I finally received a piece of paper stating that I was educated enough to be a contribution to society and immediately began my first job as a cage fighter in the Far East. Kidding. Traveled the country for about 5 years and have spent a night in 47 states. Moved back to Charlotte and worked for a PR agency for a while before coming to the conclusion that I needed something new.
I moved to Boston for a job in June of 2006 and have loved every minute of the city thus far. I'm a typical Southern boy at heart, and I was hoping for another mild winter - no luck so far. When I moved here, I had a string of bad luck, but since then, everything's been great.
I work for a PR agency in the Financial District and love it. Sometimes it's hectic, sometimes it's boring but there is always the possibility of virtually anything happening. That's fun for me.
I try to play equally as hard as I work, but I feel like that is so cliche and if I had 40-50 hours a week to "play" then I probably could not afford any of the things I love. You know, like power, water, beer and chicken wings.
I miss my friends and family, some more than others and I miss the way NC smells. It's hard to explain it, but it's true.
I am not as good as I want to be. I am not as smart as I need to be, or as educated as I'd like. I hold strongly to the things I believe in, but I am not as religious as I often wish. I have a sweet guitar in the corner and I can't play the guitar. I am very bad at being bad at something, meaning I can't take it if I am not "good" at whatever I am doing. I am kind of goofy, and I love that about myself. If you'd like to know, you can always ask.

My Interests

Six Random Thoughts: (in no true order)

1. I'm going to start a band called The Awkward Paws.

2. To the moon and back...three times

3. Yup, growing a beard for some reason. I am sure I will get rid of it by the birthday. If you've not seen pics of me with a beard, boy you are missing out.

4. The next few weeks are going to be crazy! I don't have a low key weekend until June 13th, and even then I'll be recovering from London

5. I am slowly becoming quite a reader.

6. I'm excited to start writing music reviews again.

I'd like to meet:

As for real life people - I'd like to meet......In no particular order: Ryan Adams, Dean Smith, Rex Chapman, Ben Gibbard, Kari Byron, Kat Von D, Conor Oberst, Jenny Lewis, Zach Braff,Rachel Ray, Nick Hornby, Cheska Totti, Chuck Palahniuk, Rachel McAdams, John Cusack, Andre Agassi, Schuyler Fisk, Eddie Vedder, Jack Johnson. Andy, of Cheesesteak Fame. And if you don't know who Andy is, then you have not lived my friend. Ask me or any other kid thats ever been East of Raleigh. Andy's. It'll change your life.

Also I'd really love to meet the inventor of the hot air balloon so that I could ask him why he thought that wicker propelled by fire was such a brilliant idea. I'd love to meet the first man to ever yodel so that I could kill him before anyone else heard that vile sound and had the thought that it sounded "cool". Hmmm, the creator of Hamburger Helper,a drunk version of myself so that I can see if I am as stupid as my stories would indicate, the 1982 NC Tarheels, anyone who can eat an entire can of Spam and not be sick, and Coach K so that I could kick that bastard square in the shins. The man or woman who wrote "I'm a little teapot" so that I could thank them. That songs gotten me through some hard times man. I am sure there are more, but that will do for now.

I just want to meet cool people that can make me laugh at their dumb stories.
