DJ Shaka

Blown away by the sounds that was filtering through the clubbing scene from the early 90’s and collecting tapes of his favourite DJ’s, Fisco & Shaka’s interest in the clubbing scene grew from being an interest into a full blown passion of which is still evident to this day in which there vast knowledge of DJ’s, Tunes and Genres. We then decided to move things on a bit further and in Mid 1995 where they first invested in there 1st set of Turntables to try and create and establish themselves as DJ’s. From then on they just kept mixing and trying to find there own style’s and Technique’s not just what other DJ’s where doing put to try and sound different and to stand out from the usual DJ’s that where on the scene. From then till 1999 they just kept plugging away doing tapes for Friends,Birthday Parties and a few Pre-Formals until they both got there first local break from becoming a resident’s at Quinns Bar at Gusto’s Clubsound of Newcastle Clubnight, from then on in they havn’t stopped to look back. Fisco & Shaka have went on to play at sum of this countries biggest nights such as The Planet Love Festival 2006 Antrim, M.O.A.R Festival Omagh, Fresh Underground Festival Omagh, Unity 1 Portrush to name but a few and played with sum of this countries biggest named DJ’s such as X-Ray,Fergie,Binman,Dilly,ETC aswel as sum World Class International DJ’s such as Kutski,Mallorca Lee,Scot Bond,Trix,Claudia Cazacu,ETC so they have been getting the rewards now for all there hardwork, long hours, that they have been putting in for the last 14 years that they have been DJing. Even at the present time Fisco & Shaka have been involved in running there own clubnights called Exodus and the countries biggest illegal rave called Sundance so they have lots of stuff to be keeping them busy. Fisco & Shaka have also been getting into the producing side of things, so there is still sum busy times and important times ahead, but they will totally keep a level head and there feet firmally on the ground and not to take anything for granted in this business. Influences: Mainly our local idols Fergie and Newcastle DJ Tosh,from watching him at parties,to asking him stuff about mixing,tunes,and going back home to the bedroom and getting on the decks to try and put what he had told me and from watching him and into practice,also our cousin Phelim for getting us into the scene and into different forms of dance music in the 90’s that broadened our knowledge and made us more diverse and into the DJ’s that we have become today.From listening to old tapes from the likes of Fergie, Xray, Binman, Tizer, Tosh, to Gleave, Jacko,Robbie Nelson and DJs from the mighty Hellrasier/Vengeance days, Carl Cox, Pablo, Lenny Dee etc the list could gp on but last but not least my brother Fisco keeps me on my toes till this day and doesnt let us slip behind.Airwave - Save Me (Fisco & Shaka Rework) forthcoming on Bonzai MySpace Comments MySpace Layouts MySpace Editor Icon Collage MySpace Graphics
