I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

There isn't alot to say about me....... I love to read, travel and hang out with friends. Though I don't ever have to live there again I am still representing Seattle! My motto is TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN MUCH IS REQUIRED. So I dedicate alot of my free time to helping others. In my life I have experienced plenty of pain, but an abundance of joy. I have a huge family and an even larger Family of Friends. I have learned that you must learn to create circles of love of people who have your back in the good, bad and ugly!-----------------

Gotta Love U Tube. .. width="425" height="350" ....

I'd like to meet:

Folks in Chicago, Sorors, people with an interest in politics, and people thriving to empower their communities. I will not accept a friend request from someone I do not know!

Yo my pet peeve is Negroes who grew up in this country who do not know Lift Every Voice and Sing. Here are a few clips. Learn it. Particularly if you know Chicken Noodle Soup! *Heavy Sigh*

Music:

I love all kinds of music. My all time favorite song is Sadness by Enigma. Don't ask. However if you ride in my car you are most likely going to hear Rap. Since I did live in New Orleans and Mississippi some southern rap is going to get the party started on any given day. :-)One of my all time favorites!!! .. width="425" height="350" ....

Movies:

This Is My Home

..
Hurricane Katrina was a natural disaster, but the continued displacement of New Orleans public housing residents is a man-made travesty. This documentary is a tribute to the perserverance of the displaced residents of New Orleans, and it is a call to action for the public, politicians, and all justice-minded people to support their right to return home. As an affordable housing developer who lived in New Orleans and has family still there..... this video is heart wrenching. It's about 20 minutes, but worth watching Sound of Music, School Daze, Love and Basketball, Shawshank Redemption, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail.

Television:

The Cosby Show, A Different World, Living Single (I love MAX), Law and Order, The Today Show, Everybody Hates Chris, Young and Restless. One of the best television clips of all... The Kingdome Implosion. Such a good use of the tax dollars of Washington Citizens I tell ya :-) (sarcastic comment if you don't get it).. width="425" height="350" ....

Books:

I love to read. I will read just about anything. The Color Purple & Their Eyes Were Watching God are all time favs.

Heroes:

My grandmother & My Mom. My Grandmother put aside her own issues in dealing with losing her daughter to give me strength. She accomplished things in her time women of any race weren't thinking of (college and working)! Ooh how I miss her. My mom because she was a better woman than I will ever be. I suppose Pops for keeping on keeping on and raising a daughter (by himself) through puberty LOL
