About Me

I'm 22 years old and going into my fifth year at the University of Georgia in the fall. Back in February I dropped my Music Therapy major after pursuing a degree in that area for 3 and a half years..it's just not what I see myself doing. Music Business is my passion and that IS what I will do with my life. Right now I plan on declaring a new major in either Marketing, Broadcasting (Mass Com.), or Advertising...and I'll apply it to music promotions. Music is my life. Concerts are key to my survival--live music makes me feel more alive than anything else I've ever experienced. While I do play instruments (soprano/alto/tenor/baritone sax, a little guitar and even less keyboard), I don't want to be a performer. I want to be the girl behind the scenes. Songwriting is not currently my strong suit although I'm working on it. My goal right now is to work in promotions/public relations in the rock/alt. rock genre, or maybe A&R for a record label if they aren't obsolete in the near future. I just landed the most amazing internship EVER, at Project 9-6-1, the BEST ROCK STATION IN ATLANTA! I've already met a lot of amazing people and had an absolutely blast every minute, and I hope to turn around and get a job at the station part-time when the internship ends..so keep your fingers crossed for me :) I'm also a booking assistant at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA, and I wouldn't trade that internship for anything either. Other than that, I'm an open book, so if you've got questions, ask me. Life is all about acknowledging and seizing the opportunities we're given. Here's yours.
