I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Short, fat, and ugly -- but my mom says I'm cool! (trips on shoelace, falls, backpack bursts open).

I am from McLean, VA (where I spend summers and holidays); study in New Haven, CT; and am taking a year off from school in Erlangen, Germany until July

My Interests

Fried chicken, public health policy, good books, some bad books, shopping, alcohol, all-you-can-eat buffets. inappropriate use of exclamation points and the word "also," explosive diarrhea, Franconia, running and gyming, gender theory, small, fat animals, stroking my "victory hamster"... wait, guys, where are you going?

I'd like to meet:

Britney Spears

Music:

Britney, Beyonce, Christina, Justin, Kylie, Today's Hit Music... and gradually, trashy Europop! (Atomic Kitten and No Angels). Also chamber music, esp. piano quintets, esp. Dvorak's. But I also like Coldplay, 50 Cent, Good Charlotte, Rufus Wainwright, Green Day, Weezer, Ludacris, Destiny's Child, random azn pop... oh I give up!

Movies:

SPELLBOUND! X-Men 2, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Election, Lola Rennt ("Run Lola Run"), Bring it On, Spirited Away, Crossroads, Flower Drum Song, YiYi, Waiting for Guffman, Legally Blonde, Clueless, Dead Poets Society (formative), Airplane. Last place goes to "Here on Earth," in which LeeLee Sobieski's poorly explained chronic illness really should have done away with her much, much earlier in the film and saved us all some time and grief! Also, why would anyone choose Chris Kline over Josh Hartnett??

Television:

Simpsons, Queer Eye, Family Guy

Books:

Pale Fire, To the Lighthouse, I've decided Paradise Lost is still my favorite book, Matilda, the Phantom Tollbooth, Der Goldne Topf/The Golden Pot (by E.T.A. Hoffmann -- stupid name but great story), some Kafka, the poetry of Yeats and Rilke

Heroes:

John Milton, J.W. Gibbs, Condoleezza Rice

My Blog

Should I stay in Germany??

Okay, I guess this is something I have to figure out on my own... but I am totally at a loss here! All those in favor of putting off med school and the rest of my life for another year, please say "ay...
