About Me

Everyone hates filling these things out. I have Mercury in Gemini (you know what this means if you are into astrology), but if you don't, it means that I can have my way with words. I can be too wordy, like I can make this into an essay, or a book if I wanted to. I can probably write my life story each year, and each year I could have a different point of view of my life. Other times though, I can be reclusive and shy, while not speaking a word, but that just means that I am daydreaming or over analyzing something.I'm currently enrolled in the School of Visual Arts, not really pursuing a BFA in Fine Arts. I can't wait to get a diploma saying "Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fine Arts"- how lame is that? I'm thinking of switching to Illustration since I really hate drawing from nude models. Fine art isn't just people, it can be anything! I thought that art could be anything, but going to school in Manhattan can only mean that you are going to be dealing with pretentious art snobs that could care less about you. In going to this school, I realized that there are two types of artists: the art snob-the one that compares you to every other artists and tells you why you are horrible and need to focus more on your figure drawing, and then the laid-back artist- the one that tells you that you are good as long as you are happy, and the second you are unhappy is when you need to stop and ask why. In my school, everyone falls into one of these two categories, and the same as the teachers- the younger ones are more uptight, while the older teachers are more happy and let you be free. That was how the school used to be like, and that was how I want to be. So, be miserable and follow other people's demands, or be happy and be yourself? Hmmm, what would an artist do? Yeah, figured that. The poor, starving artist, 2nd generation- but at least I just might be happy.
