Nuffin but Hip Hop flowing thru my veins.....

About Me

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY at a time when drugs and violence plagued the streets, Johnny Champion fought not to become a statistic. At an early age JC always had an interest in music; it wasn't until that moment when he heard "It's like that" by Run-DMC that he knew he wanted to be a DJ. Seeing JMJ cutting up the turntables was an amazing sight.
JC went on to produce his first mixtape in 1985 and hustled them at school and around the hood. Growing up in NY when Hip Hop was just an infant, JC was able to capture the true essence of Hip Hop. This is the era where boomboxes were blasting, break dancers were on every street corner and graffiti artists were bombing school yard walls. Keeping his ear to the radio every Friday & Saturday night recording mix shows on Kiss FM and WBLS, he kept perfecting his skills.
In the late 90s Johnny Champion relocated to Miami, Fl. During this time he spun sets at clubs in SoBe, Orlando and Tampa. JC wanted to take it a step up, he wanted to begin producing music. He took it even a step further and learned Audio Engineering, which allowed him to understand the technical and creative aspects of music. His debut production was in 1997 "Pencil Fighting" featuring Lost Cause. JC will continue to preserve the legacy of Hip Hop through his MixCds and production of music. After taking a hiatus, Johnny Champion is back on the scene, dropping his first MixCD for 2006 entitled "Back in Business". Long live Hip Hop
