About Me

Hello all you random people who don't know me. My name is Ewan, I'm 19, a student currently in my second year studying English Lit at Queen mary Uni. I tend to bum around doing as little as physically possible as much of the time as I can. Other than that I work part time, or just chill with mates at the pub, play guitar, and do various other activities that fall under the category of mundane or just plain dull.

My Interests

Seeing as I study English I obviously have to read loads. Unfortunately lots of it is boring crap from about 300 years ago that I really couldn't care less about. There are some pretty decent books though, recently read Dracula which was great.
Music is a key interest of mine, be it listening to it or playing it. I'm learning guitar at the moment, have been playing for almost a year and a half and I love it, its dead relaxing and means I can act cool. I wanna learn about a dozen other instruments at some point, ones that I'd love to play are Saxophone, Bass, and Piano. Oh, and Cello, for some reason I wish I could play Cello.
Anyways, as for musical tastes, fairly broad, I'm not really a musical nazi (except when it comes to mainstream rap and rnb) and will listen to most things. Favourite genres are just standard rock/alternative and post-rock. Favourite artists are Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Frusciante, Muse, Feeder, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Jimi Hendrix, 65daysofstatic and many more which I can't be arsed to type.

I'd like to meet:

Not overly bothered in all honesty, I'm not looking for some e-relationship or anything, but I guess anyone I know in real life or anyone that thinks I'm interesting would be cool to hear from.

Music:

Well I pretty much rambld on about music in the last bit about my interests so whatever I say here is pretty tertiary. Nevermind, I'll just carry on listing more favourite bands:
Arcade Fire
The Libertines
Mogwai
Snow Patrol
Led Zeppelin
Arctic Monkeys
Bloc Party
Franz Ferdinand
Elbow
Foo Fighters
Rage Against the Machine
Mars Volta
Oasis
Queens of the Stone Age
And once again I can't be arsed to carry on making a list of bands that no-one is really interested in or will ever bother reading.

Movies:

Favourite films are: Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Star Wars Trilogy (the originals, the new ones blow), Leon, Gladiator, Family Guy: Stewie Griffin the Untold Story, Shaun of the Dead.

Television:

TV pisses me off in general. Doesn't stop me still wasting half my day sat in front it though. Favourite shows are Prison Break, Family Guy, Hustle, Simpsons, those are the only shows that I watch religiously. The rest of the time I just watch any old random crap.
Update: Prison Break is the best program ever. Bow down.

Books:

Fave books are Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, Harry Potter (lol I must sound dead intellectual for a supposed English Lit student). More "academic" books I love are Frankenstein, Dracula, Measure for Measure, and Dubliners. If you don't know who wrote those you don't deserve to be able to read.

Heroes:

John Frusciante is my guitar hero, and is one of the best musicians ever. However there isn't anyone I "aspire to be" as such. You make your own life out of your own dreams, not by trying to be like someone else.
I know that probably sounds like I'm trying really hard to be wise or pseudo intellectual or something buts its bloody true, fair enough have people that you respect and like but live your own life.

My Blog

Just fancied a moan

In true myspace emo-ness I'm basically writing this blog because I'm a bit down and fancied venting some in a setting where at least there won't be anyone reading it, so I can quietly rant for a while...

Killing time before work

Hey, I have like 10 minutes to kill so I thought I'd enlighten my enraptured audience who I'm sure are religiously checking to see if I've updated my blog as to my recent crazy shenanigans. That said...
