The Detroit Luva Girlz is multi-talented, high-energy dancers who represent the most powerful city in the world. With their intricate dance moves and exciting routines, The Detroit Luva Girlz rocks the city of Detroit at every popular event in the city. These women execute dance routines that require a combination of strength, flexibility, and timing. In addition to performing at events, The Detroit Luva Girlz adds professionalism and class to charitable events throughout the Metro Detroit areas.

The Detroit Luva Girlz range in age from 21-35 and is full-time working professionals, college students, or both! These women are extremely well-rounded and diverse to say the least. It takes passion, dedication, and discipline to be a Detroit Luva Girlz Dancer. The dancers hit the gym for a team workout and rehearsal 2 nights per week for 3-4 hours a night year round in addition to their rigorous work, school, charity, and event schedules.

The Detroit Luva Girlz dancers are under the amazing direction of Director and Choreographer Monica Wilson. Ms. Wilson has been dancing for over 25 years and has choreographed for numerous high school, collegiate, Music Artist Video’s and professional dance teams. Monica is the former member of the Detroit Pistons Automotion Dance Team the best in the NBA. Throughout her career Monica has danced and studied with famed dancers and choreographers throughout the US. Ms. Wilson is the owner of Different motions Dance Co. With great strength and dedication Ms. Wilson hopes to continue making the Detroit Luva Girlz the best dance team in MI!

2008 DETROIT LUVA GIRLZ AUDITIONSREQUIREMENTS: Must be 18 years old High School graduate. Must be able to attend all rehearsals for the entire year. If selected, you must have means of transportation.GENERAL INFORMATION: Preliminary & Semi-Final Auditions will be held at Star Factory TBD @ 7pm to 9 pm Registration begins promptly at 6:30 pm. Competition begins at 7:00pm. Applications will be accepted now through registration. To pre-register, please send a request email to [email protected]. Applicants not pre-registered need to bring a completed application form and photo to registration on the day of auditions. Blank application forms will be available at registration. This portion of the audition process is CLOSED to the public. Please bring your own snacks and drinks. Mirrors, restrooms and outlets will be available for your convenience and use. Audition Information posted on www.myspace.com/detroitluvagirlz:WHAT TO WEAR TOPS: Crop/half top (Stomach must be shown) BOTTOMS: Boy shorts (no thongs) (bathing suit style bottoms) Nude/flesh colored tights or panty hose, (No dance pants, warm-up’s or baggy shorts.) SHOES: 3 1/2 support heels along with gym shoes (sneakers, jazz shoes, character shoes, etc.).MAKE UP: Camera Ready… Nude colors HAIR: Wear your hair in a fashion that compliments your features and does not hide your face. This is not a typical dance audition, THINK GLAMOROUS! SEXY! The judges will rate you on poise, smile, personality, energy, figure and dance ability.WHAT TO BRING A non-returnable photo of yourself Registration form non-returnable $5.00 registration fee and a SMILE OVERVIEW OF THE AUDITION PHASES 1 Preliminary Phasestarts at 7pm (times are approximate) Contestants will receive a competition number and perform freestyle dance in groups of 5 to music we will provide. After all contestants have auditioned the judges will retire to make their decisions. At approximately TBD call backs for the Semi-Final Phase will be annoced.*All contestants who received a "Free Pass" at the Prep Classes must arrive by TBD to register for the Semi-Final Phase. 2 Semi-Final PhaseTIME 8:30pm Contestants must bring their Preliminary contestant number or their "Free Pass" to re-register for the Semi-Final Phase. After registration is complete, the Choreographer will teach a dance combination & model walks by groups of 3. Immediately following the teaching portion, you will perform the dance combination and model walk in groups of 3. Upon completion of the dance section, the judges will retire to make decisions and return shortly for the announcement of those selected to advance to the next phase. Those selected will stay for a brief meeting to discuss the final phases of the Audition process: Interviews, Clinics and Performance. INTERVIEWS (Only for candidates selected at Semi-Finals) TBD
