I have many interests and many things I love with all my heart. Here are perhaps the five in the upper part of the list; I love to juggle, (been doing it since 2nd grade). I love to play the guitar, (been doing it since I was 11). I love to dance, (swing and ballroom particularily, been doing it for as long as I can remember). I love the martial arts, (I have studied hapkido, Shotokan karate, judo, aikidio, jujitsu and T.K.D - all throughout my life - beginning in 1st grade). and lastly, sleight-of-hand: (cards and coins, I love it all, been doing S.O.H. since before 2nd grade as well and with everyday, I push first to the further level). There are more, many more, for like I said, you only live once. Never look down with a empty plate in front of you, for there is no more depressing sight....
One of the greatest compliments I've ever gotten: "six degrees of Benjamin Taber Mutchek" -- given to me from an old oldie of mine, for everywhere we went, we ran into someone I knew. I would like to continue with that until I know, perhaps not everyone, but to get as close as possible. Why not? There's six billion people on the planet, aien't no reason why I can't strive to meet as many of them as possible. For every person knows hundreds of people and as always, the more friends the better.
I will listen to anything, it's true if I can dance to it that's always a plus, but I will listen to anything. I suppose some of my least favorites are rap and "down digging in the dirt" music. I listen to anything. I love it all.
The only kinds of movies I don't watch are number one, the senseless gore and sex movies, which have no plot, no point and are there for nothing. I can't stand movies like that. A movie has to have "something" for me to take two hours of my life (which I can never get back) and watch it.Secondly, movies that are disgustingly unrealistic. I can't stand those, what I might call; "oh my god, gimme a break" movies -- they are so stupid and pointless, there a waste of life and you celebrate when they are over.Other than that, I can usually find something to like about almost any movie. I went to college for computer science and drama (theater and film) so I have a great deal of respect for movies and the work that goes into them, theater and independent film as well. They are wonderful.
I don't watch television, I refuse.
I read everything except porn.
George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are two heroes unlike any other, multiple historical heroes: Benjamin Franklin, Abe Lincoln and The Wright Brothers. In the juggling community, Anthony Gatto, who is my dear friend and one of my many teachers, is a hero of mine and a true inspiration of endurance, study, hard work and practice. Mike Vondruska and Neil Stammer are right behind him. There are many others. Countless guitar and musician heroes; David Cullen is one, Jimmy Page is another. The oldest living competitive ballroom dancer is 101 years old, need I say more? Martial Arts; Ernie Reyes Sr and Ernie Reyes Jr, phenoms in the community. Jhoon Rhee, who is a tenth degree before the age of 65, (normally unheard of) the Dascosos family and the Lee family. Sleight of hand and magic, more than can be counted, local and far away but I true hero and friend, teacher to many and friend to many more is my friend and one of my teachers Jeff McBride, whose skill and technique are perhaps the closest thing to what is known as "perfect" the world will ever see. He is amazing.
