About Me

MySpace Backgrounds
I am a writer, which means two things. 1) I'm chronically poor. If I habored any dreams about people throwing paychecks at me just because I can write a semi-witty reflective essay . . . they are dead now (the dreams, not the people). and 2) my friends hate me. Which, really, is okay with me. I wouldn't want to hear about someone's love affair with the literary world all the time either. But they stick it out in spite of that. So either they hate me and are just too nice to tell me, or my family's paying them (Something I've suspected all along but could never prove. But hey, I think that kind of thing is a tax write off).

My Interests

Writing, Shopping, sleeping (it is perhaps my number one favorite thing to do), watching Law and Order (SVU of course. I'm an addict), calling and harrassing people (thanks for always picking up the phone megan!).

MySpace Avatars

I'd like to meet:

Two of my all-time favorite men.

Music:

Country's undoubtedly the best . . . well, after anything by Sir Elton!

Movies:

Hmm, so many chick flicks, so little space to list them. Here's a stab at it anyway: 13 Going on 30; How to lose a guy in 10 days, Bridget Jones' Diary, Love Actually, The Notebook, Pride and Prejudice, Tristan and Isolde, Shawshank Redemption, The Hills have Eyes, Diary of a Mad Black Woman

Television:

Law and Order: SVU *doink, doink*, The Real World, 8th and Ocean, American Idol, King of the Hill, Project Runway, any kind of documentary (that's where I get all my schoolin'), Wife Swap, and What not to Wear, and the Office (the UK version)

Books:

I'm ashamed to admit it--but the Gossip Girl series, Gap Creek by Robert Morgan, Night by Elie Weitzel, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonegaut, Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, anything by Jane Austen, The Sound and the Fury by Faulkner, Ellen Foster by Gibbons, etc. etc. etc.

Heroes:

My parents, my sister, my friends, and most definitely my husband. And certainly not to be forgotten, Amanda . . . a shining light in the midst of oppressive darkness, a beacon to those lost in the stormy seas of life, a refuge for the weary, downtrodden, and hopeless (can I stop now Amanda? please don't hurt me anymore)

Well, it's not a puppy . . .

It's a girl!  Thank the Lord.  Lately, I've been having nightmares of birthing a boy child and being sent to prison for swapping him with a girl in the nursery.  Before I start get...
