Myself when I'm eighty, and slap him in the face for not doing all the things I was supposed to do.
Last.fm sez:
But since I do a lot of listening from CD's and vinyl, here's a brief list of the most essential stuff:
Cursive. Death Cab For Cutie. The Postal Service. Bright Eyes. The Mars Volta. At The Drive-In. Elliott Smith. The Flaming Lips. Damien Rice. Interpol. Sparklehorse. The Velvet Underground. The Posies. Grandaddy. Tool. Deftones. Weezer. Nada Surf. Neil Young. Rage Against the Machine. Helmet. Portishead. Radiohead. Pavement. Sonic Youth. Pixies. Jeff Buckley. Regina Spektor. ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. Death From Above 1979. Rilo Kiley. The Smiths.
Way too many to list here but let's list a few: La Haine, Donnie Darko, Dead Poets Society, Babel, Children Of Men, The Others, stuff by Lukas Moodysson, Darren Aronofsky and Stanley Kubrick, and I also loved every movie Sofia Coppola made so far, and well, basically any film that just happens to touch me. Even better if it's super depressing.
The Simpsons, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Prison Break, The Office. I don't actually watch a lot of TV nowadays, since most of it is shit.
Harry Potters rule! The best book I've ever read was Here Under The Northern Star by Väinö Linna. Very touching. Wish I had more time and patience to read nowadays.
Anyone who has the guts to speak out and say "Hey! How about doing things in a way that actually makes sense?". Like Jesus. Or Gandhi. Or Jello Biafra.
