If Life is a slow song, let us not rush the tempo.

About Me

Long before I even knew how to write, I was composing words and melodies on my elementary school swing set. In middle school, song writing became an outlet to healthily deal with my troubles and pains. With the plan of College I pursued Nashville and an audition to their school of music, but lacking the confidence in my voice, I failed miserably. Instead I earned a BA in creative writing from Florida, which sharpened my analogies and writing style. Still itching to sing I auditioned to be one of the three acts to perform at my college awards ceremony for seniors. I nailed the audition and sang Words get in the way, by Gloria Estefan. I continued to write songs but it wasn't until I met Music Producer Eddie Montilla in Miami and Jim Wallman in Pampano that I was able to take my music to the next level. My first song, Playboy Bunny debuted at the Red, white, and bluegrass festival as the last act. As my collection of recorded material grew, i found myself debuting them at CD release parties and other musical venues.
For the last three years i have been working with some of the best musicians out there to compile a Country CD of all original songs dleverly entitled, "Miss Treated." This double meaning, tongue and cheek albumn features the songs that make up my life. From a gullible girl to men's fluffy tales, to love triangles, to contraversal non conformist country views on Christianity with "Side of Snake" to people coming and going and then being taken by that special someone. I also can admit that i am richer for knowing even the bad eggs. What's my secret? My talents alchemise negative words into gold because I know that someday my songs will earn their wordly weight in recognition and royalties. Literally, I am richer for knowing them. :) I was born in Michigan, so that makes me a Northern Country girl, but i even have a song about that. Course all of my lyrics are pety emotions compared to the love I have discovered by having my daughter. Harmony Grace means more to me than anyone in the whole world. She is my world now, and who better an audience to try out new songs than my biggest fan!

Look for blogs and exerps from my work-in-progress novel entitled:

Influences: My mother first exposed me to country music as a substitute for MTV. She swore by the twangy passionate and strong women who sang of strength and empowerment. As the lyrical listener, I gravitated toward the depth and double meanings of story songs, witty words, and loved the clever innuendos. I grew up with Emmy Lou Harris, Allison Krause, Bonnie Rait, Wynona Judd, Vince Gill, Reba, Bonnie Rait, Gloria Estefan, Celine Deon, then Trisha Yearwood, Jo De Massina, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Garth Brooks, Shedaisy, Sara Evans, Shania Twain, Lonestar, Brad Paisley, Eminem, Rascal Flats, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Josh Turner, NASHVILLE, dreams, I could go on and on! :)
