First and foremost, I am proud to be a native Pennsylvanian and especially proud of my Russian heritage from my mother’s side. It has greatly influenced my music and my values. I realized at a very young age that Andy Warhol (being a member of our extended family) and I we were kindred spirits. By the time I was seventeen, I had a fire in my heart compelling me to start life on my own. Singing in church built my confidence and, dare I say, I realized that one of my hero’s, “Elvis Presley” began his musical career in the same venue. Auditions did not come easily and were often discouraging, almost prompting me to throw in the towel. Then, like a gift and/or blessing performing lead roles in musicals such as “Kiss Me Kate” and the “Pajama Game” enhanced my singing personae. I will never forget the thrill of my first stage experiences. Since then I have never stopped singing. At twenty three I composed my first poem, however it was not until I was thirty that I realized that poetry is simply a another form music. My first piano lifted me to even greater heights. My initial experience with the piano enabled me to understand music more thoroughly and using it to my advantage in composing music. I often wake up in the middle of the night with the music and lyrics flowing through my soul. Every song I compose has a story, or I might say, a message that I feel the need to share. In retrospect I realize that I am usually inspired by something that has affected me emotionally. Other times I have been inspired by someone close to me or a brief human encounter. The Piano draws me like a magnet. During these moments I feel called to save these miraculous thoughts, notes and voices. These for me are defining moments of faith. I have waited so long to share myself & my God given talents (Thank you) with the world. My first album is my humble attempt to share my heart with others. This album represents, in every way, two years of my life. I hope through my music and lyrics others can identify and relate to the successes and worries that beset all of us. Most of all I pray that in some way, I am making a difference.
