The speaker of the forgotten language....

About Me

On august 20th, 1984, Tyler Ekeledo aka Fatal Phenom was born into a music loving family. From the start music and entertainment was something phenom embraced, my parents where huge R&B fans so I was exposed to that daily, my older cousin who stayed with us when I was little was an emcee and a DJ exposed me to hip hop he explains. From an early age phenom was the center of attention at family gathering and parties his parents through and became the main source of entertainment, I was the kid my mom called down stares to dance to the music that was playing, Im still unsure if they were laughing with me or at me he laughs she used to call me mosquito, because I was skinny and made up all kinds of crazy dance moves. As his love for entertainment grew, so did his passion for making music, so at the age of 12, phenom began to compose his first songs. It started at family gatherings, when I would gather up all of my cousins and we would write songs and put on shows for the older folks, they loved it and so did I. Soon his performances went from his living room to the school halls at the local middle school, my first rhymes really werent my rhymes, I would just take biggies verse or whoever I was feeling at the times verse and take them to school and spit them he explains. Soon after he began to get a feel for his own style, after I got caught stealing verses a couple times I had to man up and write my own sh**, thats when I started getting noticed. From then on, Fatal phenom was beginning to get noticed by older emcee and they began to show him love. It was crazy, I was like 15 or 16 at the time and older heads started feeling me asking me was I writing the stuff I was showing them because it was so deep and ahead of my time, but this time I was writing it he laughs. At the age of 17 phenom signed his first label deal with local indie label called Exodus records and dropped the now classic group effort CD from his group ill breed entitled counter strike. The album was a major success in the south west Michigan area gaining phenom and his group members major recognition. It was a good feeling, because when people think about the Michigan hip hop scene the automatically think about Detroit, but we were from south west Michigan and people around the area seem to think nothing hot can come from here.Soon after phenom dropped his first solo LP entitled revolutions eve, which some in the area deem a classic. That album right there was personal, just a lot of feelings right there, its basically an album of what I feel on a day to day basis and I know a lot of people feel the same way he explains. After his stint with exodus records, phenom went solo and began his own quest searching from indie label to indie label but not hearing what he wants. People will promise you the world when they see u can make them money, but I just wasnt satisfied he says I know I can do a lot better on my own. Since leaving Exodus records phenom has featured on a plethora of mix tapes and featured on video games such as Narc by mid-way games. Be on the look out for Fatal phenoms long awaited EP entitled by any means necessary coming soon and check for him on various mixtapes... .
