AVE'S BIO:
Repping the borough that birthed Hip Hop, Bronx rapper AvE plans to bring his hood back to rap prominence. "I feel like the Bronx has been forgotten in the game: Everybody can look at New York as the mecca of hip hop but it's almost like the Bronx isn't included when they start naming what boroughs are hot. I got love for my city but everyone names Brooklyn, Harlem, Queens, Staten island and the Bronx seems to be left out. I want to shine some light back on the borough that started it all." Since the age of sixteen, AvE has been putting in work towards that goal. With a versatile style, energetic flow, and what he calls a "New-New York Swag", AvE also has the potential to bring his entire city a much-needed injection of originality. Although AvE's stylistic roots are in New York, his music has universal appeal that no one can categorize, and just about anyone can relate to. Growing up in a two-parent hispanic household during Hip Hop's golden era, AvE first became a student of the rap game listening to legends from Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick to Big L, Big Pun, the Notorious B.I.G., and Nas.
Swiftly developing his own skills, AvE began writing at the age of thirteen, and was fielding offers from major lables only a few years later. Grinding hard to maintain his buzz, AvE's steadfastness paid off when his single "It's Going Down Tonight" was played on Hot 97 and appeared as a bonus track on the radio station's Volume 35 Mixtape in 2003. A talented performer as well, AvE has shut shows down at venues throughout New York, including Hofstra University, the Harlem State Building, Club Cheetah, X-Bar, China Club and P. Diddy's restaurant Justin's. A business savy rap artist, AvE has also made moves in the thriving gaming industry, with his song Hammers in the Air appearing on the Midway Games' Narc: The Video Game.
His Stand & Deliver mixtape will be dropping late July 2007, which will be featuring the single That's Mean , produced by Arm from Tha Factory Productions. Choosing to go the independent label route, AvE was recently signed to the underground powerhouse Urban Music Entertainment ( U.M.E.), and also linked a management deal with Mad Ciphas Entertainment. AvE is currently working with a number of prominent producers, including Jimi Kendrix, Omen, Chase N Cashe, Apex, Soul Diggaz Productions, Mickey Free, and Shatek and up-and-coming producers Track Gunnaz, Djay Cas , Blunt, Trackslayers, Black Nizzo and Engineer. He has also collaborated with Mic Geronimo, Esso, Lucy Diamonds, Nucci Reyo, Mickey Factz, Charlie Clips, Shan Shizzy and R&B singers Trey Lorenz, Melody and Mi Vega.
AvE's views on how the Hip Hop game has changed reveal his commitment and confidence in the culture: When I think about the game right now, It's definitely changed but it's just something that you have to adapt to, and if you can't you can just forget about a career. It's an ever changing culture, it grows in different ways and still branches out , You have your crunk shit , hyphy shit , hood shit , club shit , political shit, like 10 years from now it's going to be crazy. We'll probably have 20 different styles of hip hop. It's all about where you fit in and how you can contribute. With a certified resume and the game-changing projects that AvE has in the works, it is only a matter of time before he carves himself a prominent place in the rap world.
