Its official, L.E.S., stand up; the Hip Hop world is officially on notice. For decades every section of NYC has been well represented in Hip Hop, but there has always been an underlying question, almost an unstated notion that Manhattan's Lower East Side hasn't securely stuck their flag in the dirt; surely this is no easy feat. In this world renowned Mecca of Hip Hop, the competition is brutal, mediocre is not an option and greatness is measured by its ability to induce change.
Finally, theres a rumbling from this 6th Boro.
Seven Dirty; an explosive new artist dedicated to changing the game promises to set a new standard, rocking the very foundation of rap music. Equipped with a variety of street smarts, general knowledge, witticism and clever word play, Seven Dirty has created a formula that best showcases his personality.
The Lower East Side, which is mostly known for its great cultural diversity, sets the landscape that blueprinted the making of a rebel. Seven Dirty is a beast whenever there's a mic within his reach. This reformed hustler is still on the grind, just a different hustle. Although he recognizes the streets as being a great influence on his life, he doesn't want to contribute too much energy glorifying it in his music. With a strong Latino background, of Puerto Rican decent, it's no surprise he has a fascination for music, but his distinct creative methods brings a new twist to song writing. His approach doesn't conform to the traditional way of writing music; his pen knows no boundaries.
Previously teamed with his brother, TRU-LIFE, forming the group GHETTO INMATES and signed to Loud Records, their scheduled debut release was pre-empted due to an industry related dispute with then label-mates MOBB DEEP, acknowledged on the QDIII produced documentary, BEEF. This caused Loud to opt for their best selling artist, thus relieving the INMATES from their contractual obligations. Walking away from this experience enlightened, the exposure to the politics of the music industry helped to inspire his determination to succeed in the business.
With a solid understanding and appreciation for hard work, you can find Seven Dirty in 12 hour sessions in the studio several times a week. "Im heavy on the grind", cites Dirty, and he is very adamant about the contributions he intends to make; "I plan to wake up the industry from being hypnotized with all this garbage and give them real music". He is sure to do just that with such life affirming songs as, Do It All Again; a compelling self-journey of a hustler with very little regrets of the path he has chosen. A man who is appreciative of the life lessons his experiences has revealed to him, thus solidifying the point that dues must be paid and the road to succession is a tedious one.
Also featured on this debut project, P.Y.T, a ghetto serenade paying tribute to the young and sexy women of the millennium. This vigorously smooth melodic record compliments this collective with its courageous show of versatility.
There are many facets to this artist persona, here he expresses a gentler sentiment, "I have a baby girl now", he proudly proclaimed, "Who doesnt want the best for their child? At the end of the day its about not letting her go through the same things I went through". A point that has proven to be very valid amongst many breakthrough artists, certainly the reality of becoming a parent factors in on the determination to succeed.
Seven Dirty's current project, The Package, exemplifies a period of growth accompanied with the trials and experiences during his escalation to success. This extraordinary body of work contains an assortment of material; from the in-your-face street editorials and up-tempo bangers to the humorous and controversial; theres definitely something to fit any frame of mind.
It is not a question of if, but WHEN...
Seven Dirty will get to showcase his talent.
