About Me

I'm just a really laid back guy, mostly even tempered, fairly intelligent but a complete idiot at the same time. I tend to be a perfectionist and have a few obsessive quirks that no one would really notice themselves, but annoy the crap outta me, haha! I love cold weather, loathe the hot stuff. I love to laugh and goof off...I'm only serious when I really have to be. I'm an uncle 13 times. It's pretty awesome; all internal family polls reveal that I'm the favorite uncle by overwhelming margins, and I certainly revel in my glorious victory. Uncledom is fantastic, and I'm completely happy with it (which is just my way of saying that the odds of my entering into the realm of dadness would be absolutely zippy). I'm super-patriotic...I love this country...God bless the USA! I love animals, but I'm not sure I ever want to own one. I'm a stickler for good grammer, speling, and, puncuation (get it?). Why can't people figure out how to use the poor little apostrophe correctly? It's not that hard, really. I'm a relatively quiet guy, yet I love to listen to the loudest, heaviest music on Earth. I love beer, love wine, love Kahlua, but I've never been drunk and never will be. Favorite beverage? Probably Diet Coke, in one form or another. I like to mind my own business. I'm pretty clean and organized. I definitely don't look or act my age. I don't want to grow up, I guess. I love Jesus. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4

My Interests

Very much into sports... football, baseball... love it. But my first love will always be the mighty puck. Hockey is by far tops on my list. Can't get enough hockey. Lately, I can be found glued to my television set as I have treated myself to the NHL Center Ice package and I pretty much don't miss a game. I liken it to the closest thing to Heaven on Earth. I'm a Pittsburgh guy, so the Pens, Steelers and Pirates are closest to my heart (can't forget the Johnstown Chiefs!!). I'm into food...cooking, baking...I'm learning. I also enjoy making fun of myself, getting up at 4:30am for work, falling down flights of stairs, slipping on ice, skating on ice, sarcasm, Chuck Taylors, cereal, throwing things, candles and things that glow in the dark, talk radio, crude humor, eBay, Krispy Kreme, gigantic belches, self-deprecation, being alone, collecting stuff, and a whole host of other dumb things. But enough of this palaver! Moving right along...

I'd like to meet:

Someone who can help me find a copy of Detente - "Recognize No Authority" on CD...Myspace .. Now Icons

Music:

I'm into a lot of music. Oldies, disco, funk, swing, jazz, etc. I really, really love rockabilly/psychobilly and punk (especially the classic horror/sci-fi themed stuff!)...my interest in music is rather diverse. But I've been a serious metal lover all my life, from the underground 80s metal to modern death metal. It's quite possible that it's a more-or-less healthy outlet for all my pent-up aggression and self-loathing. Definitely not at all into rap and hip-hop, showtunes (dear God, make them stop...) and 99% of country music. Some faves: Virgin Black, Anthrax, Liege Lord, Metalium, Believer, Nasty Savage, Disincarnate, The Beatles, The Ditty Bops, Gorguts, Extol, Agalloch, Napalm Death, Origin, Nile, Exhumed, Possession, Halloween (Detroit's Heavy Metal Horror Show!), early Fates Warning, Crimson Moonlight, early Cult, Jamiroquai, Evoken, Paramaecium, My Dying Bride, Opeth, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tura Satana, Death, Blaster the Rocket Boy/Man, Griffin (80s), Sanctuary, Omen, Necrophagist...on and on. I play guitar and bass. I was undeservedly blessed to have been asked by one of my favorite bands to play bass for them on their first international tour. It was the greatest time of my life, even though I was in poor health at the time. I will never stop saying that I didn't deserve that honor. I wish I could do it all over again...I never felt like I was doing what I was meant to do more than I did when I was on stage playing. Metal and goth fans are the greatest on the planet. I'll never forget it as long as I live. THANK YOU (you know who you are).

Movies:

I love classics, from Cary Grant movies to cult favorite schlock/exploitation/trash flicks. If Something Weird Video released it, chances are pretty darn good that I would be all over it...I get the biggest kick outta those movies. I mainly love the old horror and sci-fi movies that I used to stay up all night watching on Chiller Theater as a kid. My collection of those flicks continues to grow. I won't go near musicals. Same goes for what are commonly known as "chick flicks", although there may have been a couple here and there that I've been able to get through without wanting to hang myself afterward (I think so, anyway. Not completely sure about that). In general, though, I'm a big movie lover for sure...

Television:

24, Leave it to Beaver, Seinfeld, Mythbusters, Around the Horn, PTI, O'Reilly, Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Munsters, SpongeBob, Wildboyz.

Books:

I'm into non-fiction. I've given fiction a fair shake, but, ah, it's just not for me. Anyway, when I'm reading it's usually something on conservative thought, cooking, spirituality, film or whatever may have my interest at the time.

Heroes:

My mom, my grandma, my pastor back home, and every single man and woman, past and present, who has defended this country and the cause of freedom as a member of the greatest military force in the world, the US Armed Forces. Thank you for everything. I deeply appreciate you and all that you do.
