About Me

Writer/Director/Doodler/Animator/etc./etc...

Creator, writer and director of this:

If you're in Australia, the first volume of Fluffy Gardens is out in ABC stores. You know you want it!

Director of this:

And Writer/Director of this acclaimed horror short:

That's just for starters.

Check out my personal blog at http://jasontammemagi.blogspot.com /

MY FILMS:

Here are a few of my short films. For Fluffy Gardens and Roobarb etc, well, hopefully you'll catch them on TV or DVD!

'Detained' Detained is a short films about a kid who ends up in detention on the day a zombie outbreak occurs. It stars, among others, Jarlath Conroy who played McDermott in Romero's 'Day of the Dead'. It also has a special appearance by Barry Warner - you'll find him on my friends list. It played at numerous horror film festivals, has had a great reception online and some nice person uploaded it to YouTube (although I thought YouTube had a ten minute limit).

Anyway, here's Detained. Let me know if you dig it.

'Night Out' Night Out is one of my oldest, yet one of my favourite short films. Made in 2002, this was my first taste of live-action (we shot the entire thing and animated it using hand-drawn frame by frame rotoscoping techniques). It played all across the planet and got a nice (but short) four-star review over at Film Threat . It's got lots of red and lots of blue. Loses a little in the YouTube translation but I hope you like it.

'Not There Yet' Not There Yet was my personal rant against the Irish transport system which is easily the worst transport system in the world. This was a popular one at festivals worldwide and, to be honest, I'm a little surprised as the references are total Dublin.

'Dublin 1' This short won a Silver Hugo at the Chicago Film Festival, came third at the Galway Film Fleadh and picked up a bunch of Jury special mentions elsewhere. This one's not for the kiddies! Hope you enjoy!

Dublin1

'Why Cows Have Legs' was the first Flash cartoon I ever made. So it's pretty basic. But here it is anyway!

MY WRITING:

Fluffy Gardens has wrapped. That's 40 seven-minute episodes of preschool fun! My biggest writing challenge to date. Hope you guys like my stories.

Corners, a live-action psychological horror feature script, has been optioned by Princess Pictures and is currently in development.

A few more secret projects are in motion. More on those soon!

MY DOODLES:

Occasionally, I'll post some of my artwork over at my blog (link is up the page somewhere). I may post some here at some point if anyone is interested. Most of my output these days consists of concept and design work for my written projects.

MY ACTING:

I like to act because it makes me a better director. It began with a cameo in my own short, Detained (I'm the zombie eating guts at the end - I wasn't going to ask anyone to do what I wouldn't do myself) and, from there, decided to take acting classes. Last year, I appeared in a low-budget short, 'Thieves of Ormond' directed by Cillian Daly. That's in advanced stages of post-production. I have something else lined up with him this year.

If you've got a film/short/whatever and are looking for an actor, well, I'm a handsome devil so get in touch.

My Interests

Horror films, music, cartoons, stuff.

I'd like to meet:

William Shatner, Bruce Campbell, George A.Romero, John K and maybe Gary Coleman.

Music:

Where do I begin? Love rap, turntablism, electro, rock and a whole bunch of genres I don't even know the name of. I mean, what the hell is shoegaze?Currently listening to: Chromeo - Fancy Footwork, Black Francis - Bluefinger, Goblin - Profondo Rosso soundtrack, Rob Swift - Wargames, Mums the Schemer - Strange Fruit, The Shins - Wincing the Night Away, Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine, Paul Di'Anno - The Living Dead, DJ Krush - Zen.A bunch of other stuff too.
